God has waited for Africa for a long time. I share this conviction as I welcome the mission of the Mantle of Deborah and A Million Women Prayer Movements, and I pray that God will raise a million women in Uganda to pray for our nation so that we can rise and become what God intended Africa to be. I have no doubt that God will answer, and all the honor and glory will go back to Him. When women rise up and are determined to do something, they do it. If we all rise up and pray, I can't imagine how much more God is going to do for all of us.

My birthing experience: I was reluctant to make this video detailing the harsh truth that so little has changed for Black women in maternity care since my birth. However, transparency about the persistent biases and neglect we face is necessary to drive reform. I’m still extremely grateful that my baby girl and I are well, and enjoying this period but I wish I could honestly say we had a better experience in maternity care this time round. I’ve been keeping something from you. The way I cope with hard things is by doing the work and putting the pain in a box. But the truth is—since I spoke out against insurance companies, things have been really hard. My practice is struggling. I built a surgery center so I could take better care of my patients, expecting to do my cases through insurance. But several insurance companies have refused to contract with me since I posted that video. The strain has been so heavy, I’m not sure I can keep the practice open in its current form. I’m sharing this because no insurance company should have the power to shut down a practice, especially one built to help people. All I want is to take care of my patients. All I want is to do the right thing. I’ve invested all of my time, money, and heart into this. And it’s dangerous—truly dangerous—that one or two insurance companies can make decisions that threaten the future of a practice like mine. I’m hoping that I can figure something out for the practice, but I just wanted to be honest with you guys because this is part of the reality of being a doctor. This isn’t the first time I’ve been here. COVID almost knocked me out. The hack, when I wasn’t paid for three months, was another blow. And now this—being punished for telling the truth. But I won’t be knocked out. I’m committed to telling the truth about healthcare, about insurance, and working to find a better way to continue to keep my practice open and taking care of women with breast cancer so I don’t lost my practice or my home. I have to keep it real, if you know me I love all people I'm one of God’s soldiers, that being said, I'm not perfect, and I say a lot on my live streams, and some shit gets clipped and edited to make me look bad so clippers can get views. Luckily, this clip was edited to convey my point. I have no problem with white people. But I said what I said. Even I get clickbaited sometimes. This probably won’t be the last time something I say gets taken out of context. Much love to all except the evil people 😂

When I was in High School, I went to a University of Utah baseball camp. The coach said if you don’t have anyone to practice with you, to do short hop circles so you can practice approaching the ball, fielding it, and shuffling to throw. Super simple drill. But a great one. Infielders have no excuse to not be good when this take all of 10 feet and nobody else! #baseball #softball #catchingmadesimple
