It’s amazing to me how Wall St can continually reinvent itself and wreck people using the same tactics over and over and over again. The data center bonds will end up being a disaster just like MBS in 2008. Yields represent risk and the yields are very high. Junk status.

There is a difference between peaceful Islam, radical extremism, and political Islam. When people around the world repeatedly see terrorist organizations like ISIS, Al Qaeda, or the Muslim Brotherhood, among others, using religious language while slaughtering innocent people, fear spreads because evil is being falsely wrapped in faith. The problem is not Islam. The problem is radical extremist movements that hijack religion for power and violence. If we refuse to name that reality, extremists win twice: once through terror, and again by poisoning how an entire faith is perceived. Islam itself forbids forced belief and the killing of innocent people. The Quran says, “There is no compulsion in religion” (2:256). Extremism is not faith. It is a political ideology hiding behind religion. Free societies can confront radical extremism while defending innocent lives and religious freedom at the same time.

Yesterday was the last day before Recess - I gave a rather rapid speech critiquing the government's counter-extremism strategy. Inevitably those branded extreme can too often be those who dissent from progressive orthodoxy. And guess what - it rarely includes the elephant in room: Islamism. Oh, and I managed to get union-jack-waving, purple-haired goth Amelia in there too...!

The Met and Sadiq Khan stopped calling them grooming gangs. Now it’s “multi-offender child sexual exploitation.” They deliberately avoid the term “grooming gangs” so they can deny they exist and because it carries racial and political baggage. But the behaviour is the same: Groups of men, targeting vulnerable girls, using coercion, rape, and control. Same horror. Same cover-ups. Different label.
