The actual CO2 emission from China tells a completely different story. They are building record number of coal factories. The only thing that is true, is that Mark Carney has no set of ideals that he lives by, & he will flip-flop as long as he gets to profit from it. And if tariffs are dropped by Canada on electric vehicles, Mark Carney gets to benefit from it with Brookfields investments in China. His stock options are now worth over $20 million.

This is the perhaps best illustration that Trump's new "Monroe doctrine" is objectively achieving the exact opposite of what it intends. Carney is currently in Beijing describing a "new era of relations between Canada and China" and explicitly talking about both countries becoming "strategic partners" on a comprehensive range of issues, including "issues on security." There is no overstating how extraordinary this is to anyone who's followed Canada-China relations in the past few years. Canada was probably THE country globally most aligned with the U.S. when it comes to China. As a reminder they literally abducted the daughter of Huawei's founder on the U.S.'s behalf and held her hostage for years despite severe Chinese retaliation - all in service of Washington's containment strategy. So for all intents and purposes Canada used to actually embody the Monroe Doctrine in practice: they were all-in on the US! And now Trump has achieved the extraordinary feat of changing that calculus, impressing upon Canada that HE was the threat and that they needed to hedge their US exposure. I mean, imagine telling anyone during the Meng Wanzhou episode that 4 years later Canada would be in Beijing, asking them for a strategic partnership on security matters while America threatens to annex it 😅

After over a year our Government has not had a single formal talk with the US regarding USMCA? Mexico has had them, but not Canada. Canadian industries are right to be concerned. Mark Carney was installed to usher in an agenda that Canadians never voted for. He is not working for Canadians. If you are still under the belief that Carney is going to make "Canada strong" you are a complete idiot.

VP Vance was asked about the ongoing tariff negotiations with Canada, and what he’d say to Maine businesses and consumers worried about the impact of those tariffs. His answer was 🔥🔥🔥 "Well, first of all, I’d say we’re very mindful of the fact that Maine is a border state with Canada. There’s a lot of cross-border transaction between Maine and Canada. And what we’re trying to do here is just make sure that Maine actually gets a fair deal. If you look at the amount of tariffs that have been applied not just on Maine but on a lot of our northern states that are doing cross-border trade with Canada, Canada and China have been the two worst countries when it comes to trade policy anywhere in the world. What a shame that is. China, you, of course, expect. They’re our biggest economic competitor. I would expect that from China. I would not expect that from Canada. We have to remember, Canada is a state—sorry, Freudian slip. That was actually an accident. 🤣🤣🤣 Canada is a country that has underinvested in its military that quite literally would get invaded by a foreign country were it not for the umbrella of protection provided by the United States of America. And so how does Canada actually respond to that? By treating the people of Maine fairly? But you know, if a Maine farmer sends dairy products into Canada, they could be paying as much as a 250% tariff. Now, how is it fair to the farmers of Maine that they pay 250% when the Canadian farmers pay nothing? That unfairness is something that we just have to fix. And here’s what happened with the most recent round of negotiations. They’re still ongoing, and I want to be respectful of the process. But we know that Canada allows itself to be used as a backdoor for Chinese goods. They treat Chinese goods more fairly than they do the goods that come from the people of Maine. It’s insanity. And what we’ve said to Canada is stop it. Apply a basic principle of fairness to the trade that you’re doing between North Dakota and Canada, between Maine and Canada. You can hear him say: “less than 3% of our product,” “49,000 cars,” then making a cut-off gesture: “capped” — and then, “I thought you’d actually like that.” Presumably this is about Chinese EVs — Canada’s deal allowed up to 49,000 Chinese-made EVs into Canada, roughly 3% of the market. So let’s get this straight: Ottawa makes deals with China. Then Carney explains himself to Trump. And Alberta is supposed to pretend this is “sovereignty”? No thanks.
