Yes, haha. I think the only time you should use it when it gives extra context for what just happened (he chased that way off the plate because of the sweeper action!)

It's not that hard people. You can still call a sweeper a slider, but don't bitch and moan when others use sweeper to distinguish it from other sliders.

Is the "cement mixer" a form of a slider or a curveball? It can be the outcome of either if they're poorly executed, correct? I mention that only because I think pitches sometimes get mislabeled because of the outcome of the pitch vs. the intent of the pitch.

It’s a “gyro” that’s spin axis is too close to neutral, robbing it of its break. They break less than they’re supposed to based on the “average” Dany Jimenez throws one of these.
