Thanks to leaks, we now know Pokémon Project Synapse – a new online multiplayer Pokémon game is being unveiled this week. But what is Pokémon Synapse? The short answer is we don't know yet, we know it's multiplayer and likely being developed by Pokémon Works, the new company set by ILCA and TPC, but we have some hints about it from last year's Teraleak. In the Teraleak there was another game that fit this description - the cancelled Pokémon Project Rodeo. The game is also an online multiplayer game for both Switch and smartphones and revolves around using ride Pokémon to defeat rampaging Pokémon. In the pitch document for it, it mentions some Splatoon references for the fact that you can customize your characters and your gun (yeah it has some kind of gun), and the fact that it's a team based online game. While Rodeo was cancelled, we think that parts of it have been reincorporated into Synapse, what we don't know yet is how different it is now.

They are making ME want to play Pokopia. ♦️ I LOVE how it looked in this early version with the Zelda: Link’s Awakening glow and a different perspectives. I like it more than the final version. ♦️ Different Pokémon than the final version of the game gave Ditto the terraforming abilities, and there were even ones that got cut like Charmander’s fire-tail. ♦️ Ohmori specifically didn’t want battling in Pokopia. 😒 He gave the devs one prompt to create the world: “positive apocalypse.” ♦️ The initial concept was a world without humans, and the Pokémon would eventually find humans by following clues on how to reunite with the humans. ♦️ Professor Tangrowth was the first new Pokopia Form that inspired all the others. These forms are: what would these Pokémon become if a lot of time had passed! Ohmori seems to have had a hand in making them all, but specifically Prof. Tangrowth, Peakychu, and Mosslax.

Watching these bts moments at Game Freak in 2006… I can’t help but think this was near the peak of their love for this franchise. You can tell they put so much fun, effort and passion into it. We really need Game Freak to still capture this love and effort for the future of the franchise. Over time doing the same thing gets old in a way(even if you still love it)… Sometimes new fresh ideas are needed too. If they just channel that magic again, or hire new guys that have that same excitement about Pokémon AND then pass on their spirit to them… man 🥹 I just love this.

When Nintendo released the NES in 1986 in the US, the market was still suffering from the video game crash of the early 80's. Due to low quality control and shovelware titles, the video game market was cooked. Nintendo wanted to change this stigma. Their system was not a video game console, it was an entire 'entertainment system.' The console was redesigned to work like a VCR, moving from a top loader to a front insertion slot, like a VCR. Accessories were also included - such as Rob the Robot - an add on that claimed hours of fun. Rob was a gimmick to sell consoles and Nintendo knew robots would sell the system - and it worked. If you ever played with Rob, you know just how horrid it was. 😫

Was farming first encounter of ghosts to get the helmet I was missing (yeah I know it sucked) and I noticed that there are actually A LOT of details and stuff I just never bothered to notice in these play spaces. For example. Did you you know you can actually SEE Ahsa in this area before dropping down into the methane ocean for the first time? It honestly wants me to go back through all the dungeons in the game and take proper time to look through all the stuff in the world. Is that something you guys would be interested in?

Many people keep saying I should have staked high. Lol. 88 naira brought out the max potential win of 125m. I only cashed out because real-socided got a card so early in the game and I had a feeling that another card will surface in that first half and I will loose all. The game later went on to have just cut1. If everything went well I would have won 125m with just 88 naira. We go again this weekend.

I will always associate Bullfrog Productions with innovation, daring to take risks, and trying unconventional ideas. That approach didn't just evolve later in their timeline of games but was pretty evident early on. Populous (1989) is widely recognized as the origin of God games. I remember having zero idea what to do when first playing it but being instantly hooked. Over time I figured it out, what the goal of the game was, how the mana bar worked, what effect the disasters had, how to raise or flatten land - I mean, think about how many other games before allowed you to cast an earthquake spell on your enemy, or to terraform the land around you, letting your hero cross the seas to wreak havoc on enemy peasants. Pure glorious mayham, fun, and a very novel concept. Obviously, the graphics look a bit dated now (though I love that pixel style), however the concept itself feels timeless. Populous is the game that first comes to mind when I see the Bullfrog logo, but it was not their only unique and ground-breaking game. One of the best developers of the 80s and 90s, truly missed if you ask me.
