The short answer is we don't know yet, we know it's multiplayer and likely being developed by Pokémon Works, the new company set by ILCA and TPC, but we have some hints about it from last year's Teraleak. In the Teraleak there was another game that fit this description - the cancelled Pokémon Project Rodeo. The game is also an online multiplayer game for both Switch and smartphones and revolves around using ride Pokémon to defeat rampaging Pokémon. In the pitch document for it, it mentions some Splatoon references for the fact that you can customize your characters and your gun (yeah it has some kind of gun), and the fact that it's a team based online game. That made me want to bring the original Pokémon Stadium to iPhone and iPad. Not an emulator. Pokémon Stadium, running natively on iOS and iPadOS for the first time. Pokémon has been all over X this week because of Gen1Recomp. That made me want to bring the original Pokémon Stadium to iPhone and iPad. Not an emulator. The game has been statically recompiled and rebuilt as a native ARM64 app rendering directly through Metal. No N64 hardware being simulated, no ROM interpreted at runtime, no streaming from a Mac. I think I just found a TCG that is doing something REALLY interesting Origins TCG is basically what happens when you take the collecting side of Pokémon and combine it with fast, competitive card game gameplay. You can actually TRADE your cards on Steam. 💰 So you're not just opening packs, building a deck, playing a few games and forgetting about your collection. There’s an actual reason to care about the cards you own. And before you think “yeah, but I have to spend money to get started”… Nope. The game is genuinely FREE TO PLAY, and some cards can be earned without spending anything. The gameplay is fast, competitive, and easy to jump into, while the collecting/trading side gives it a whole different layer. I’m genuinely curious to see where Origins goes with this.
