haha - at the 0:12 mark you can see a cone in the middle of the road that is sort of bent over. That cone got moved and SHOULD be the way I would go... but the cone makes it seems like I need to go left instead, which is actually oncoming traffic.

I would have made the same mistake. Was FSD supposed to drive over the cone in the first picture or squeeze through these cones potentially knocking them over in 2nd. That’s just bad road construction set up 🚧

Yeah I made the same mistake, since I was 'supervising' I was watching each decision the car made and I was fully onboard with the path it chose up until I realized we were on the wrong side of the road. Certainly not an FSD mistake, but pretty wild either way. my main question is what SHOULD FSD have done in this situation?

FSD V13 Disengagement On my drive home yesterday we were coming up on an accident and FSD showed no real signs of slowing down for the wall of traffic we were moving towards. Could it have slowed down in time, probably? But I didn't want to slam on the brakes and hope that the semi truck behind us would do the same. This is a situation that could so easilly have been avoided if FSD was more cautious about coming up on stopped traffic. I also think FSD should take into account the traffic data it's getting. The map showed bright red, so even without seeing cars FSD could know that there's a really good chance that there's going to be slow moving traffic up ahead. FSD keeps sending me into HOV lane even though I’m the only person in the car. Tesla please fix HOV auto detection because it doesn’t work. First clip shows FSD trying to cross double yellow into HOV lane this past Sunday. Second clip shows FSD going into HOV lane this morning during my commute. Both times took me by total surprise. 😱 This morning I thought I’d re-engage FSD and see if it would recognize the mistake driving in HOV lane and get me out of there, but it didn’t. I ended up having to disengage and cross double white to get my car out of HOV. I’m glad there wasn’t a cop there or else I would have gotten a ticket. I had another FSD fail today. Going down the highway and we get to the dark skid marks and again FSD freaked out. Even though I was hovering my foot over the accelerator we went from 60 to 54 and got the red hands and warning alert to take over. Most of the time this doesn't happen but this is twice now the same thing has happened here. It seems to be OK if following another car but when we are the lead car this has happened twice. I'll be disengaging FSD just before these skid marks and then turn it back on once we have passed this spot until the next update comes out for V14.1 L

Sprinkle of Cybertruck FSD mishaps. FSD v14.2.1. FSD was getting ready to make a left turn. In fairness, I pushed the pedal as there still was time to make the turn before the oncoming car. However, I took the foot off and the truck came to a stop. Then when the turn was almost complete, FSD threw the red hands and the message said "Aborted with a system error." If you are wondering why I looked at the camera in between, I wanted to make sure it was recording the situation. I have hours of video footage I recorded while driving on FSD 14.2 and 14.2.1.

Here’s something I don’t understand. We pull up to a vacant supercharger stop. I get a popup on the display that stall 1D is out (it’s over towards the far left side of this station). FSD pulls in, skips tons of open spots to go over and park right next to 1D 😂 I thought it was actually going to take it, but it went for 1C. Is there any connection between the charging network and FSD? Does FSD have awareness of broken down stalls? Just curious if there’s any logic to the way it chooses a spot in a scenario like this

FSD did not stop at the intersection. I drove 180 miles r/t to do this test and FSD was flawless the entire trip except for this intersection. I blame the speed limit, the bend in the road, the foliage, and the horrible design of this intersection. I still love FSD and wouldn’t have a car without it.

This may be the longest reverse I have seen Tesla FSD do for me. I was dropping a passenger off at a "local motel", all the way in the back where there is a big fence separating the motel from an industrial junkyard and no easy way to get back out. Tesla FSD v14.2.2 did an amazingly long reverse, all the way through the front gate and then turn around to get on our way to the next passenger. Every day there seems to be something new from Tesla FSD that I see while doing Uber in Houston that just amazes me.

Found a FSD V14.2 limit the other night in some of the worst fog I’ve ever driven through at night, while it was raining. In the early part of the video, you can see me take over. I did this because the car was going about 50 mph, and I completely lost my bearings. It’s funny, because cameras def see better in fog than humans. Even this video doesn’t look as bad as it looked to me IRL. But I was totally uncomfortable, and took over because I really had no clue where the road was at the moment I disengaged. FSD didn’t quit here and might’ve been fine, but I’d prefer to see it go slower in these moments. I wasn’t confident that it understood how bad the fog was, and I wasn’t familiar with the area. When I attempt to re-engage, FSD quits immediately. I think this was because of rain (you can see cam visibility pop ups). People will say this is a vision problem, but it really just comes down to needing better context and adjusting speed in these conditions. Conditions this severe aren’t super common, and the brain probably doesn’t have a ton of exp here yet. Idk if I’ll ever find myself in a condition this bad again but if I do I hope to see FSD signal greater awareness.

On the way to the Oakland Zoo (47 minutes, 41 miles), I told my significant other I wasn’t going to disengage when we got there. I wanted to see how it would handle the ticket booth. Of course, I said I’d take over if anything unsafe happened, which, by the way, it didn’t - I never needed to disengage the entire ride. This is what happened. We pulled up to the entrance. The car stopped for the ticket attendant. I rolled down the window, told him we had tickets, and he said, “Take a left.” But FSD kept going straight. It probably kept going straight even though the man told me to go left bc it was locked onto a different location in the zoo in the navigation, which was straight ahead. So it continued forward, then exited, and rerouted itself back to the zoo. However, this time, I turned off the destination in the navigation. I turned on Grok and told it we needed to take a left this time. I pulled up to the attendant again, told him I went straight the first time bc I was running FSD, and after that brief conversation… the car took the left, entered the correct area, and then found parking. I was shocked, despite my significant other being frustrated. Bc not only did I never disengage the entire 47 minute ride, but Tesla FSD adapted to this edge case scenario. And this was when I realized I’m witnessing the early signs of sentient behavior in Tesla AI…

FSD slams on the brakes for a cat in the road that doesn’t even exist. This is FSD 12.6.4 on HW3, which is a lot more sensitive to shadows & objects in the road with the 2026.8.6 update. There are many reports of brake stabbing. It brings me back to the days when I was testing with v10.3 of FSD back in 2021. It’s interesting that it’s the same FSD version as before, and not something like 12.6.4.1, but I guess Tesla can change the weights without changing the version. And they’ve likely been doing this for a while with 12.6.4. 😒

FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.
