Flight simulator update✈️. I created a new volumetric cloud material using #r3f for #threejs. It is based on a ray marched shader, meaning good performance. Let me know in the comments if this is something interesting to be a future component🙏🏻. Live link soon. #threejsJourney

YouTube video(Twitter video compression is too aggressive): I learned to read the scene depth from @akella: Learned Ray marching + threejs from @3d_visionary: This took 2 weeks to implement 🤯.

Raymarching is not good for performance nor free, to the extent that most production volumetric clouds subsample or amortize rendering over several frames. Software depth testing like I demonstrate in doubles geometry cost also if done at full res.

Hey Cody. Thanks for the reply. I agree. But the other options we have for volumetric clouds are just not working for now. I tried this example: but it was running slow here. So, I created a mixed version of that shader and now it is working 120fps.

@alanmelling Here are some beautiful volumetric clouds!

Wow! Anderson, this is fantastic! 🤩✨ Would love to learn this technique! 🙏

@th_ebenezer Thanks Ebe! I'm sure you already know it. I use it differently hehe. Your stuff is way more advanced than mine ;)

Nice job!

Thank you ;)

Great work Anderson 💯 I am curious to try it out

Thank you Richard :)

Awesome work bro

💯could be very cool for moody scenes, making it more interesting than just fogExp

Thanks. Indeed. This is more flexible and we can control any aspects of the cloud like the movement, the density, and much more.

@marcba is your chance to create the same with @tresjs_dev 😜

Can’t wait for the link 🙂

I will DM you ;).

That looks astonishing!

Thank you Scott :)

I'm going to leave you a comment, spectacular, impressive, what else can I say, it's fantastic and I like it from your humility, you want to continue improving yourself, my congratulations, I won work.

Thank you very much for the kindness :). I still have at least more 10 years to learn about this hehe. I'm just starting it.

Impressive work! 👏👏👏

Thanks you my friend 😍

This is amazing boss 🔥🔥

Keep up the good work dude! 🤘

Thank you buddy 🙏🏻

Of course yes :)

Whoa, this is amazing!

Thank you Chris ;)

is it Composer, does it work in WebXR?

It is not a composer. It is just a plane. But I don't know if it would work because shaders, especially ray marched ones, are challenging for WebXR. But I will give a try and see what happens hehe.

Looks great

Thank you so much Nik :)

clean as usual

Thank you my friend ;)

Amazing. Simple but with awesome results 🤩
