This app lets you design and print out physical tickets for distribution and then lets staff scan the ticket so that it can’t be reused. You also take a photo of the person and facial recognition makes sure people don’t slip back in line a second time. She is a product lead and a designer but has no engineering background. i know i’m supposed to be working on the Joi Planner mac app, but every weekend i challenge myself to build a side project: something small that can be done in a day or two. mostly for fun, sometimes to wrap my head around a new topic or technology. yet, i never end up sharing anything. so in the spirit of change, i’m putting this one out there. meet Ambie Journal (name pending), an app for daily self-expression through freewriting, that only allows you to create one note per day (just like a paper journal would). no cloud storage, no markdown, no spell check, no AI, no images, just text. everything is stored locally in .txt format. should i release it?

Someone on Reddit built a real operating system using Claude. Not a browser app pretending to be one. An actual OS that runs on bare metal. It's called Fable-OS. The only interface is a sentence. No bash. No commands. You type what you want and an AI agent executes it through direct kernel syscalls. Everything runs in Ring 0. In the demo, the agent realized it didn't have a sound driver. So it found the Intel sound card, built a driver for it from scratch, and played a sound. On its own. The OS writes its own drivers. Evolves itself. The agent's tools are the kernel itself. Open source. Built because the developer got tired of people calling browser apps "AI operating systems." This one actually is.

Once they can verify who you are online, they no longer need police, courts, or judges to punish you, there’s no arrest, no trial, no physical prison cell.
