A phase of play taken from our video on Rosenior's team and attacking organisation. Build with five, patience. Play through around or over into the front five, change of tempo, attack an unorganised defence. Units detached - rest defence issues.

Jordan Goodwin is one of the best possession-winning guards in the NBA… Insane positional offensive rebounder and turnover generator. Extremely hard-nosed at the point of attack. Uncomfortable player to play against.

🔥 Leicester City Positional Practice 🔥 A simple but highly effective setup to develop principles in relation to central build up play and realistic support angles in possession. ✅ Fixed in possession positions ✅ Defenders press inside designated zones ✅ Game realistic central support lines ✅ Passing triangles and third player combinations ✅ Decision making under pressure ✅ Helps players play through, around, or away from the press This practice is excellent for developing players’ understanding of spacing, body shape, timing, and positional relationships when building through central areas. Save this one so you don't lose it, follow us for more and visit our website for instant access to a library of training sessions ⚽🔥 #FootballCoaching #SoccerDrills #PositionalPlay #BuildUpPlay #LeicesterCity #CoachEducation #FootballTactics #SoccerCoach

This is what optimal left-side dynamics looks like. 1. Watch Calafiori throughout. He makes all this possible because he can play in the half-space, on the wing, and as the CF. Only profiles like him, Mendes, and Hakimi should be encouraged to play in the halfspace in attack regularly. 2. To manipulate the block, Gyokeres and Calafiori basically revolve around Trossard. The 'control' player (Trossard) has the ball for the longest time, while the 'direct' players (Gyokeres and Calafiori) revolve around him and play the ball quickly. Perfect!

My proposal for principle-based positional play as the basis of future high-possession game models. Attempted to speak through my many thoughts on positional and relational play before landing on a newer framework. Will flesh it out in a written piece in a clearer and less stream of consciousness manner but hope this sparks ideas and conversation. My DMs are always open. TIMELINE: [00:00]: What do high possession sides need to win? [00:47]: The difference in qualitative vs numerical superiority [01:41]: How do teams gain qualitative superiority? [01:58]: Quality is emergent (why bad players can suddenly become good) [03:30]: Why positional play has worked so well (especially in the Premier League) [05:55]: Why positional play helped Guardiola adapt to injuries and find his best sides by the run-in best [06:50]: Why positional play (as we know it) could be improved on and my solution [07:44]: The pros and cons of relational play [08:25]: My proposal of principle-based positional play for the future of football
