They are even going as far as threatening legislation to allow Seattle Police to install barriers themselves...without the Mayor's approval. Mayor Katie Wilson in an extended interview with KOMO News reiterated that she’s not asking for a change in drug possession laws, and the Seattle Police Department is still understaffed. KOMO reporter Jackie Kent was attempting to interview the Mayor about the lack of transparency in her administration, and about the now multiple incidents of Mayor Wilson acting downright hostile towards journalists. The Mayor's staff told Kent that her questions would be answered after the event they were at, but that appears to have been a cover to avoid them altogether.
