Not all Taino agreed with Hatuey, and the colonizers were able to overtake and capture Hatuey and his men. Before his execution in 1512, as his rites of faith were being read, Hatuey, who knew nothing of heaven or hell, resisted converting to Christianity and chose instead to go to a burning hell than share heaven with the Spaniards. The spirit of Cacique Hatuey lives.

My friend Abdi Mohamud had mentioned an urgent matter which is the misappropriation of Somali culture under the “East African “ banner: Somali culture is rich, vibrant, and distinct, with unique traditions ranging from the elegant Dirac dress to the lively baati parties and flavorful cuisine. However, there has been a growing trend of cultural appropriation where certain individuals and groups, particularly from neighboring East African countries like Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Burundi, claim Somali cultural elements as part of a vague “East African” identity. This practice not only erases Somali heritage but also misattributes iconic Somali traditions, such as the Dirac and Alindi clothing, to unrelated cultures like those of the Arab world or India, despite these regions not wearing such garments in their traditional contexts. The Dirac, a flowing, colorful dress adorned by Somali women for special occasions, is a hallmark of Somali identity. Norway is the best country in Europe by far and it's not even close. 🇳🇴 How do I know? 1- my wife's family is from there, and I have ancestry from there too (albeit less)... AKA BASED 😎 2- If I had to pick one European country that American conservatives should admire the most, it would be Norway. Underneath the modern politics is a culture that still values many of the things conservatives care about. Norway consistently ranks among the safest countries in the world. Violent crime remains relatively low, corruption is among the lowest anywhere on Earth, and there's a deep sense of high trust that didn't happen by accident. It was built over centuries through strong communities (especially small and local), and a culture that expects people to actually contribute rather than simply consume. Its history matters. Norway spent centuries as a Christian kingdom after the conversion of King Olaf II in the 11th century. Christianity shaped its laws, holidays, moral framework, and national identity long before modern politics existed. Even today, despite increasing secularization, churches, Christian traditions, and holidays remain woven into Norwegian culture. Norwegians also have an unusually strong connection to their history. They celebrate their Constitution Day on May 17 with enormous pride. Families wear traditional bunads passed down through generations. Viking history isn't treated as something embarrassing to erase. It's part of the nation's story. Conservatives often talk about stewardship, and Norway is a fascinating example. But if you strip away today's gotchas and look at the foundations, Norway demonstrates that a nation with strong historical roots, a shared culture, pride in its heritage, and a long Christian tradition can build one of the most stable and prosperous societies in Europe. Absolute nonsense! 🤨 Just heard this LBC caller Barry claiming that as a nearly 50-year-old black man, people still cross the road and clutch their handbags whenever they see him walking towards them, holding it up as proof of everyday racism in Britain. Barry on LBC: “I’m a black man, and when I walk down the street, it doesn’t matter that I’m almost 50 years old, people will still cross the road. People still cross the road. They will still grab their handbags. I ask the question, are they being careful or are they being prejudiced?” No, Barry. That is not the everyday reality of Britain in 2026. Most people do not clutch their handbags or dart across the road at the sight of a middle-aged black man. Treating this as the normal experience of black men in this country is just not true. Britain is one of the most tolerant, welcoming, and least racist countries on Earth. We take in more people from every background than almost anywhere else, and the vast majority of us live and work together without drama. There are racists in every society, that will never fully disappear, but painting the average person on a British street as constantly prejudiced against black men is a tired exaggeration. Stop trying to make this country sound like some extreme racist dystopia. It isn’t.

"Why are young women using walking sticks?" One of the newer trends among Leftists is to use walking sticks or wheelchairs. I've seen this going on for a long time, but didn't think much of it until this article came out several days ago and Leftists had meltdowns over it. The people doing it tend to be fully capable of walking and functioning perfectly fine when they're in the mood to do it. They almost always identify as some form of LGBT, tend to be female, are often overweight, usually don't work, and are often self diagnosed with things like ADHD, chronic pain, fatigue, migraines..., which they claim cause their disabilities. There are countless people with actual disabilities who are often in severe pain, truly have issues with walking, are missing limbs, mostly paralyzed, have difficulty speaking, are deaf or blind, have different diseases that they fight against every day..., yet they try their best to function like most people, work, get degrees, have families, socialize.... People with true disabilities tend to treat them like abilities. They have something that may be seen as a a disability, but instead treat it as a slight disadvantage that pushes them try doing just as good, if not better than everyone else. They don't make it their whole identity. These "disabled" Leftists on the other hand make it their whole identity. Their bios and posts are full of them trying to push how "disabled" they are. The real disability of theirs is laziness and feeling the need to victimize themselves in order to get attention that they don't get otherwise and probably didn't get enough of when they were younger. There is now "disability pride month" to push how much of a victim their self diagnosis made them because they need a month to remind you of it every day instead of every other day. I'm all for having a month, week, or day to celebrate truly disabled people who overcome their disabilities every day, but most of what I've seen is these scumbags taking over such things. These same people would have a meltdown over "cultural appropriation," yet here they are pretending to be disabled. It's a disgrace.
