A beautiful day with my daughter Rafif in the neighborhoods of Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. We try, as much as we can, to hold on to moments of joy and to keep going, waiting for our simple right to life, safety, and stability. A different environment from the harsh reality we live in here. Rafif is a child of this world, and her right—and the right of all children in Gaza—must return one day.

Moments we can never forget… Yesterday, we left Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis heading toward the city center, but the lack of transportation forced us to walk for a long time. As we approached central Khan Younis, near the yellow line, the shelling and gunfire intensified, so we stayed in one place for a while to avoid risking our lives. When the situation finally stabilized, we made our way to my aunt’s home, but we were unable to make contact due to the loss of network and internet, and our phone battery was almost empty. Rafif and her family are safe. Please keep us in your continued prayers.

Today I went to the center of Khan Younis. I left behind Rafif, crying, as if I might never return. I left my wife and my family and went alone to work on preparing and repairing the place we will live in. Please continue to pray for us and support us—we still need so much. Today, by God’s grace, we managed to prepare part of the place, and tomorrow we will continue with the rest. Rafif is safe, my family is safe, and I am also safe here in the center of Khan Younis. Please keep us in your prayers always. 🤍

I realized that every time Rafif steps out of the small room we live in — a room that feels like a trapped prison — she breathes life again. Our life here in Khan Younis barely allows us to move except within very limited areas, yet those simple moments together, sitting around a small table in a tiny place, were unforgettable for our little family, despite everything happening here in Gaza. That short outing brought so much positivity… Rafif’s spirit improved, and my wife and I could see it clearly in her beautiful eyes. Just moments ago, we were laughing and playing, trying to create a small moment of joy for my daughter, Rafif… But in a single second, random gunfire tore through our peace in the middle of Khan Younis. A child not yet two years old has already learned the sound of bullets, calling it “dukh” instead of being lost in play and laughter… Instead of a childhood, fear is planted in her heart, and terror fills her days. This is Rafif’s reality today… A childhood stolen from the children of Gaza before the eyes of the world, in unbearable silence.

We will go in a few hours to the doctor to have my daughter Rafif examined, and despite the difficult conditions in Khan Younis, we will go to check on her. Our lives are constantly in danger, and even when we go to receive medical treatment, our lives are at risk at any moment. 🙏 Keep Rafif in your hearts and prayers. Khan Younis faced multiple massacres and displacements over the last few days. The military occupation is pushing people further towards the coast and to the Central Area. Support here: Our team stopped going to Khan Younis due to safety reasons and are now preparing to provide support for the people displaced in the central area. We are hoping to provide tents, food and water to the tens of thousands who were forcibly displaced. In one of our last distributions in Khan Younis, we gave out 10 lentil pots to various camps. Each pot cost around $400 so the total is $4,000 with 90 servings per pot so a total of 900 servings. Each serving feeds 3-4 people depending on the size of the bowl or pan that people collect the food in.
