So basically they took a little bonus and are back and the government is paying them through a contractor to be back at their jobs”

The Soviets in the 1970’s built a nuclear submarine that could outrun torpedoes. This was in response to the west developing stealth submarines. Soviets had to do something so they took a different approach. It was made with titanium, completely new methods of manufacturing had to be developed, could go from zero to full speed in just over a minute, an aerodynamic teardrop shape and it had so much automation that it could operate with just 1/3rd the crew of a conventional attack sub. It was basically an underwater fighter jet. Quite staggering the amount of time and money the Soviets poured into this project. Watch this video to learn more.
