What amazes me in all the US dominance of high tech military hardware is that Sweden has maintained its own independent research & manufacturing ability.

Yes we French do what has to be done, we produce and we buy European, maybe it's time for the other Europeans to do the same!

Imported equipment accounts for less than 8% of French defence purchases. Sweden therefore gains far more than the contract itself. France never imports out of structural dependence, but solely in pursuit of excellence.

This strategic shift makes sense as Europe adapts to evolving security threats.

France choosing Saab over Boeing extensions—valid push for European autonomy. Yet in an era of Russian aggression and Arctic tensions, Full diversification might dilute the interoperability NATO desperately needs. Sweden's tech is excellent, But transatlantic ties remain the backbone. Can we afford partial decoupling now?

Well the aircraft itself is built in Canada by Bombardier with countless US suppliers. But it does feel nice to buy the best, which this is for the regional needs of France.

. The US should remove all the troops out of Europe. Let Europe defend Europe….

This is the way UK and all of Europe has to go. Stop buying American and buy from or indeed sell to our European allies. Time for America to be removed from our defence spending.

Well it's a realisation that the USA cannot be trusted and the costs are bloated compared to European and allied nations like South Korea , it's getting very difficult for politicians to justify buying American , it may be good but we have seen just how good the local kit is

Europeans need to be prepared when the orange despot decides to take over European territories.

Hopefully their aircraft are better than their cars were.

Sweden, being unaligned all these years, and being geographically close to Russia, have a strong military technology base of their own. So far, they have been locked out. Their joining NATO was more about expanding their arms industry footprint than any increased threats.

It also show how badass the Swedes are at defence material that take on Russia.

Let me sum it up

Good. Let’s cut funding to NATO and pull a lot of our troops out of Europe.
