They didn't need this war in Ukraine; they needed Ukraine. But greed won out, and the US entered this war with Russia, declaring its intention to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. But something went wrong, and in the face of a possible nuclear war, the US abruptly decided to distance itself from it. And now, Trump is proposing his "peace plan" to maintain control over at least part of Ukraine. Putin agrees with Trump's plan, but at the same time claims that the goals of Russia's special operation in Ukraine will certainly be achieved. However, Ukraine and Europe have a different opinion. And I don't know what Trump's optimism is based on.
