French President Macron: It makes sense to develop the Future Air Combat System together with Germany and Spain. It does make sense to have concrete projects like air defense with new-generation systems with Italy and the UK. It does make sense to have early warning systems like our initiative... with Germany. If this money is used just to have national solutions or to favor national players without a clear European approach— to build European standards, to simplify Europe, and to help countries deploy additional industrial footprints—we will waste our money, waste our time, and create a lot of these synergies. Huge mistake! So, I’m an old-fashioned guys in these days, but I do believe in the FCAS. I do believe in joint projects, and I do believe in some stage of new generation systems, because it’s hard for me to understand how we will build new command solutions if we destroy the few ones we had. I had a meeting with representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Canada, and the Netherlands to NATO and praised their countries’ contributions to our defense. We are grateful to Germany for the Patriot systems, to the United States for the opportunity to purchase weapons and air defense systems through the PURL initiative, to the United Kingdom and France for the missiles, to Canada and the Netherlands for their contributions to the PURL initiative, and to all other countries for their assistance. This support truly saves lives of our people, and it is very important that new countries join the initiative. We discussed opportunities to strengthen the protection of our energy system ahead of winter: the purchase of air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as the reinforcement of our tactical aviation. We also discussed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia and other key pressure points to compel it to end the war.

Germany’s Merz on Europe’s defense products: We will have to keep three objectives in mind. First, we must simplify our systems; we build too complex. Second, we have too many systems that are developed, procured, and financed in parallel and alongside one another. And third, we need higher production volumes. If we orient ourselves around these three guiding principles — simplification, a reduction in the number of systems, and scale, meaning larger production volumes — then I believe we will be able to achieve significantly greater defense capability with the naturally limited public budgets available to us.

We need about 1,000 interceptors a day, and we can supply at least another 1,000 a day to our allies. Second, we know how to build radar and acoustic coverage to respond to how “shaheds” and other drones approach. Third, we have software that allows radars to keep working even under electronic warfare jamming. In real time, we analyze enemy frequencies and respond to them. And because of this system, we understand how effective our defense is against almost every attack drone, and we can move our positions and air defense to get better results. This iPad gives full control of the situation because we have a system for using our defense tools. If a “shahed” needs to be stopped in the Emirates – we can do it. If it needs to be stopped in Europe or the United Kingdom – we can do it. It is a matter of technology, investment, and cooperation. Further military assistance, additional contributions to the PURL initiative, diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, and energy support were the key topics discussed with the Chancellor. We also addressed the first major results of Ukrainian-German joint drone production. It is precisely this kind of cooperation that makes our countries stronger. We discussed how to scale it up. But it's important to say with 28 days to go I'm not Donald Trump. When you think about the signifance of what this next generation of leadership looks like were I to be elected president. It's about, frankly, I love the American people. I believe in our county. I love that it is our character and nature to be an ambitious people. We have aspirations. We have dreams. We have incredible worth ethic. I just believe that we can create and build upon the success we achieved in a way to continue to grow opportunity."

I think specifically in New York, there are adjustment periods. We've seen that time and again... My sense is our team has jelled pretty well. I think it was a focus in spring training. I think guys spent a lot of time together in spring training." Part of being a good team over a 6-7 month stretch is finding your identity through adversity. We're facing adversity right now certainly at an earlier stage than any of us expected or wanted, but this has an opportunity to be part of our story - help us find our identity, come through this and understand we have the ability to do that. Based on the guys we have and the quality of work and the quality of people, I believe we will be able to do that."

We are now in a new phase of development for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We have done a lot to transition the Ukrainian Air Force to a new aviation standard – Western combat aviation. From the beginning of this war, we have been talking with our partners about the need to close the Ukrainian sky from Russian missiles and aircraft. We have held hundreds of meetings and negotiations to strengthen the capabilities of our aviation, air defense, and Defense Forces. We often heard the word "impossible" in response, but we made possible what was our ambition, our defense need, and now – it is a reality in our sky. F-16s in Ukraine. We ensured this. I am proud of all our guys who are skillfully mastering these aircraft and have already started using them for our country. I thank our team for this result. I thank all the partners who are truly helping with the F-16s, and the first countries that accepted our request for aircraft – Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States, – and all our partners, – we value your support. I wish our Air Force and all our warriors to feel the pride of Ukrainians in our combat aviation and to bring Ukraine the combat results that will bring our victory closer – our just peace for Ukraine.

A rescue operation is currently underway in Zaporizhzhia after a Russian ballistic missile strike that hit city buildings. I have already spoken with the Commander-in-Chief about what is needed to enhance the safety of our cities. We are speaking with all our partners about providing additional air defense systems. Right now, we do not have enough systems to protect our country from Russian missiles. However, our partners have these systems. Once again, we reiterate: air defense systems should save lives, not gather dust in storage facilities. I am grateful to everyone for their support.
