Ukraine strikes back with precise, targeted attacks, and unlike Russia, we know exactly what we aim to achieve. Peace, of course. We are not waging war for the sake of war, as Russia does. Even Hamas shows deal-making acumen, but not Putin. For now. Together with our partners, we are creating the conditions to compel Russia to peace. And it will happen. We support all global diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace in the Middle East, and we strongly expect that just pressure on Russia will bring peace to Ukraine and to our entire region as well. Thirty four days ago, Ukraine responded positively to the U.S. proposal for a full and unconditional ceasefire. And for thirty four days now, Russia has been openly refusing to cease fire. Putin remains focused on continuing the war. Russian state propagandists are preparing their audience for the idea that diplomacy will not bring any results. There is only one reason for this – in Moscow, they are not afraid. If there is no strong enough pressure on Russia, they will keep doing what they are used to – they will keep waging war. And in order to have such a long-standing peace for Ukraine and for the whole continent, we do need the security guarantees. And the first one is clearly a credible Ukrainian army for the years and decades to come. And the second one is our own commitments, all of us. You can be sure that Europeans are very lucid about the fact that they have their fair share in the security guarantees for Ukraine, but their own security is clearly at stake in this situation.

Finnish President Stubb: Russia has been waging its war of aggression against Ukraine for almost four years. Its actions are illegal and immoral. We are closer to peace than ever during the war, but at the same time we cannot be sure whether Russia is ready for peace. Peace is most often a compromise, and we must prepare for the fact that all parts of a peace agreement will likely not meet our sense of justice. However, we will do everything we can to ensure that Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are preserved. Ukraine is part of a free and democratic Europe now and in the future. We will continue to support Ukraine, we will not tire, and together with our allies we will ensure that Russia will never again attack its neighbor.

To counter this, we must work together, in unity, to achieve a just peace. We are all equally interested in forcing Russia to make peace and adhere to international law. The world majority can ensure this. The Global Peace Summit in Switzerland provides us with a real opportunity to achieve just peace and restore full force to international law. We are working together to focus the world's power on bringing a just peace to Ukraine.

We follow the 🇺🇸 initiative to end the war. We all stand for peace, but not just any peace.
