City of Harare admits air can trigger water meter charges The City of Harare and Helcraw Water say prepaid water meters work the same way as ordinary water meters. They say the meters are not faulty. According to the statement, when there is air trapped in water pipes after events like burst pipes, repairs, or when the water supply is restored, that air can pass through water meters and cause them to record water use even though mostly air is flowing. The city says this is a known challenge that affects both prepaid and conventional water meters, and that current technology cannot always tell the difference between water and large amounts of pressurised air. Residents are advised to close their taps immediately if only air is coming out and report the problem to the City of Harare or Helcraw Water so technicians can fix it. These water trucks are heading from Russia's Rostov toward Ukraine. Due to Russian occupation, Donetsk region has been left without water. The region is currently suffering from extreme heat, and water is almost entirely unavailable. Both drinking and technical water now has to be delivered to more than 1.2 million residents of Donetsk and Makiivka, as well as to half a million people in other towns and cities. There is also a shortage of water for Russian soldiers from the "Center" and "East" military groupings. The hopelessness of the situation is not that there is no way to deliver water - because of leaky pipes, destroyed water intakes, and pumping stations. The real disaster is that the water itself has physically run out. In the Donetsk coal basin, nearly all mines have been flooded during the occupation. As long as the mines were operating or kept in dry conservation, water was regularly pumped out. But after Russian forces occupied the city in 2014, they first sold all the equipment from these mines for scrap metal, and then simply flooded everything. Flooding the mines means stopping the pumping of water from them - disrupted water horizons, underground rivers, etc. do their job. The tragedy is that once a mine fills up, its contents mix with these groundwater horizons. The resulting excess pressure forces this mine water to rise to the surface, creating huge rust-colored swamps - that's iron oxide. As a result, all water horizons in Donbas are now unfit for any use. This is a massive environmental catastrophe that no one is talking about.

BREAKING: The U.S. Navy has destroyed a major drinking water distribution facility serving Sirik County in southern Iran, leaving more than 20,000 civilians without access to potable water during the peak of summer heat. According to the CEO of Hormozgan Water and Wastewater Company, the strike destroyed two reinforced-concrete water reservoirs with capacities of 500 and 2,000 cubic meters, along with associated mechanical infrastructure. The facilities supplied drinking water to the town of Kouhestak and ten villages in the Bamani district. As a result of the attack, water service has been completely cut off to the affected communities, depriving more than 20,000 residents of access to drinking water in one of the hottest regions of the country. Local officials stated that the targeted infrastructure was directly linked to the daily health and livelihood of the civilian population. Damage to the water supply network is estimated at more than 140 billion tomans. This is a great example of how very different birds are. The Osprey comes gliding in and crashes into the water somewhat violently, and then sinks its talons into its prey, rips it from the water, and carries it off on its final journey. The Great Egret on the other hand is all about patiently waiting for the perfect moment to pluck a fish from the water. Even with the Osprey crashing into the water right next to it, the egret doesn’t even budge or blink. What a contrasting comparison!
