Strengthening the workforce that keeps our cities clean, appointment letters were handed over to 579 candidates, including 476 sanitation workers appointed under the Lad-Page Committee recommendations and 103 candidates recruited through the direct recruitment process. Nagpur has also become the first municipal corporation in Maharashtra to introduce a free housing scheme for sanitation workers, providing 300 sq. ft. homes free of cost, with the option to avail larger homes by paying the additional construction cost. These initiatives reflect a firm commitment not only to keeping our cities clean and healthy, but also to improving the quality of life, dignity and welfare of those who work tirelessly to make it possible. Empowering Lives of People of Nagpur through Housing and Healthcare! It’s truly fulfilling when a promise made to the people becomes a reality before their eyes. In 2023, along with our leader, Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji, we performed the bhoomipujan of the ‘Swapna Niketan’ project. Today, it gives me immense pleasure to hand over 480 EWS houses under the PM Awas Yojana and inaugurate various development projects in Nagpur. In just 2 years, Gaurav Agrawal and his team delivered beautiful homes with solar systems, lifts, community halls and more — all at ₹9 lakh under PMAY. Under the PMAY, Maharashtra has received approval for 30 lakh homes in a year, giving 1.5 crore people the right to own a house. We’ve begun distributing ownership rights to slum dwellers, making them eligible for permanent housing support. In Nagpur, we’re improving transport with e-buses and metro services. Also, inaugurated a new fire station and a tree transplanting machine today. Under Hon PM Modi Ji’s vision, 123 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are sanctioned for Nagpur—83 are already running, and 27 more were launched today to deliver better healthcare. Directed officials to build at least 1,000 affordable homes in each of Nagpur’s six constituencies, and to develop a Signature Building Model for the health centres. Nagpur International Airport: A World-Class Project Becoming the Growth Engine of Vidarbha Glad to attend the Handing Over and Taking Over of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur, from MIHAN India Limited to GMR Aero, along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji and Hon Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu ji. When new airports were being developed around the country, we decided that Nagpur airport also needed to be refurbished and expanded. Despite legacy issues, it is now embarking on a new chapter. The integral part of this airport is that it is a passenger and cargo hub with two runways. Glad to dedicate the ‘Dr Keshav Balirampant Hedgewar Flyover’, connecting Indora Chowk to Dighori Chowk in Nagpur, along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji today. The occasion is even more special as this infrastructural marvel has been given the name of RSS Founder Sarsanghchalak ParamPujniya Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar ji in the centenary year of RSS. The inauguration of our newest flyover marks another proud milestone for our city. It will significantly strengthen North-South connectivity, cut travel time from nearly 50 minutes to just 10-12 minutes, and make daily commutes faster and smoother for citizens. A New Milestone in Public Healthcare! Attended the Maha Arogya Shibir along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji, organised in coordination with the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Desk, Nagpur. The Maha Arogya Shibir is a significant initiative where government hospitals, medical colleges, charitable institutions and specialist doctors have come together on a single platform to provide advanced medical treatment for those in need. More than 31,000 patients were examined during the camp. In the next phase, 5000 patients requiring surgeries and specialised treatment will receive free treatment under the initiative. Through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, healthcare support has been significantly strengthened. Coverage now includes 2300 ailments with free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh, while financial assistance of up to ₹35 lakh is available for select critical procedures. A New Era of Sustainable Waste Management in Nagpur 🌱 Inspected the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's 'Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant' at the Bhandewadi Dumping Yard, which is set to turn the vision of a waste-free city into reality. Operated by the international industrial conglomerate KEVA SusBDe, the facility will process 1200 tons of waste generated daily in Nagpur. To be completed in 3 phases, the project will ensure that all daily waste generated in the city is processed using advanced technologies. Through this project, both wet and dry waste will be collected and processed. The treatment process will generate biogas, high-quality compost fertilizer, and fuel pellets from dry waste. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has allotted 30 acres of land for the initiative and will receive an annual royalty of ₹15,00,000 from gas sales. Directed the administration to extend all necessary support for its successful implementation. The biogas generated through this project will be utilised to supply CNG for 198 city buses. In addition, the project will provide energy pellets required by MAHAGENCO, further contributing to sustainable energy generation and resource utilisation. This landmark project will reinforce Nagpur’s position as a national model for sustainable solid waste management and environmentally responsible urban development. Building a Skilled Maharashtra for a Stronger Future! Inaugurated the Nagpur Skill Centre today along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji. Established through the collaboration of AID and Tata, the centre will equip youth with industry-oriented skills and create a future-ready workforce. Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, skill development has become a national priority. Maharashtra is further strengthening this vision through a dedicated Skill Development Department, ensuring closer collaboration between the government, industry and educational institutions to enhance employability. The state's expanding healthcare, solar energy, EV and alternate fuel sectors are creating significant demand for skilled professionals. Maharashtra has become the first state to supply agricultural power through a 16,000 MW Agri Solar network, with 2000 solar feeders expected to generate demand for at least 50,000 trained solar technicians. To prepare youth for emerging industries, the state is partnering with the Tata Group and Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University to provide training ranging from basic skills to advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Quantum. More skill centres will be established across Maharashtra to support continuous upskilling. Approval has also been granted to establish a state-of-the-art Skill University in Nagpur. The university will feature specialised schools in collaboration with leading corporates and expert institutions, ensuring students graduate with industry-ready skills and placement opportunities. Building a Skilled Maharashtra for a Stronger Future! Inaugurated the Nagpur Skill Centre today along with Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji. Established through the collaboration of AID and Tata, the centre will equip youth with industry-oriented skills and create a future-ready workforce. Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji, skill development has become a national priority. Rail Infrastructure for a Level Crossing-Free Maharashtra! Inaugurated 4 Road Over Bridges (ROBs), 4 Underpasses (Subways) and 1 Road Under Bridge (RUB) across Maharashtra, jointly developed by Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MahaRail), the Government of Maharashtra and the Ministry of Railways, along with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji. Fulfilling lifelong dreams, one sacred journey at a time! Delighted to flag off the Bodhgaya Darshan Railway Yatra under the Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana. Bodhgaya is the sacred land where Bhagwan Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, blooming timeless thoughts of peace and compassion. Having personally experienced the profound, divine energy of Gaya during my visit in 2020, I am deeply moved to see our elders embark on this spiritual journey. We launched this scheme specifically for our senior citizens who have always held a lifelong desire to visit such sacred pilgrimage sites but were held back by personal challenges or a lack of travel facilities.
