Any approach to revitalizing agricultural soil has to take into account farmers, consumers, and institutions like banks and political parties. 🌱👩‍🌾💼 Farmers need to be provided knowledge about sustainable soil practices and incentives to implement them. During the transitionary period, they will need help in the form of loans and carbon credits to support themselves. After all, they are doing the work of mitigating #climatechange for us. 📚💰🌎 Consumers need to be educated about the benefits of produce that comes from rich soil. Intense, revelatory, dramatic - COP28 has been many things. The overwhelmingly warm response from delegates, farmers, NGOs and governments towards the movement has been heartening and inspiring. Most importantly, the Save Soil message resonated loud and clear at COP28 and soil is now firmly placed as a prominent aspect of the climate change conversation. Many of those who came to the Save Soil Pavilion were new to the Save Soil movement, but quickly became firm friends, brought together by both the passion and pragmatism of the Save Soil team.
