Here is why I disengaged FSD 14.3.3. Before this clip starts, I could see a semi coming down the on ramp and saw that it had some momentum. FSD did not slow down but the truck in the right lane would have ran into the other semi and either had to brake real hard or switch lanes. I took over to make it clear to the semi driver that I would let them over. No big deal, would be nice, if FSD could have seen that coming and facilitated that move. Tesla AI

FSD 12.5.5.2 failed to stop for this red light & I had to take over around where the last right turn arrow was at the end. Note the pedestrian starts moving to cross the street & stops when he perceived that my vehicle wasn't stopping. This is a perfect example of why these issues are critical regardless if FSD wouldn't have caused an accident or not. This is a hw4 cybertruck with perfect visibility. Tesla needs to be tracking these type of issues as "necessary interventions".

WHY is this thing in my bathroom and why does it move like that?! 😭 My neighbor grabbed it with a paper towel and a few seconds later her hand started burning and turning red. We’re literally at the emergency room right now because nobody knows if this thing is actually dangerous or not 💀 I’ve NEVER seen anything like this in my life. At first I thought it was just a normal centipede… but the way it moved honestly made my skin crawl. Does anyone know what this is???

Today I had my first demo drive in a Tesla. It was also my first time ever sitting in one. This was the first car I’ve ever sat in the driver’s seat of where I didn’t touch the steering wheel for over 20 miles. Before I even got to the car, the people who had demoed it before me were an older married couple who were absolutely euphoric. They thought it was so cool that the car could drive itself. The Tesla employee told me this happens all the time. People come back from demo drives and tell the next test driver that they’re about to have an amazing experience. Little did I know, I’d end up carrying on the torch to the next couple demoing it after me. There was a ton of construction where I demoed the car, and FSD handled the entire drive extremely well. And yes, it can go through a drive-thru and stop at each window. The only thing I had to do was tap the pedal because it wouldn’t leave on its own, but it was still wild seeing the AI stop perfectly at the second window and wait. There are a million things I could write about why a Tesla feels like a better car and how much more it offers compared to a regular car. But for now, I’ll stick to FSD. There were only two moments that made me a little uneasy. The first was pretty minor. The car slightly hesitated going up a driveway, but quickly made up its mind. The second was more noticeable. I didn’t realize the car was nagging me. Once I touched the steering wheel, nothing happened, so I pulled it right a little harder, then let go. After that, the car turned left and crossed a double yellow on a backroad. (and yes I know you can sue the volume knob) I’m not totally sure if it was trying to pull over or what it was doing. I wanted to see how it would handle the situation, but there were cars coming, so I took over and corrected it. One of the coolest moments was when I thought FSD was glitching because it came to a complete stop in the middle of a busy road. Then I looked around and realized why. On the right side, there was a bicyclist waiting at a yellow crosswalk. The cars behind me didn’t honk, and the Tesla stopping actually incentivized another car in the right lane to stop and let him pass. The car is almost too nice to pedestrians, because 99.999% of humans would’ve blown through that, especially with no flashing light. For 99.9% of the drive, the car navigated confidently and smoothly. It was a real “feel the AGI” moment. Please do not let the media, the general public, or anyone else convince you that this technology is just some kind of auto assist or glorified cruise control. This is undoubtedly getting extremely close to feeling superhuman. You still have to pay attention to the road, but after experiencing it myself, I’d be shocked if HW4 Teslas aren’t unsupervised within the next couple years. The car was extremely smooth. There was no harsh braking, and it even avoided something in the road that I didn’t see. Driving with FSD made me realize I probably wasn’t driving as well as I could be. Hopefully, eventually, everyone’s car can be as mindful as a Tesla. I’ve never seen a brand so far removed from the public’s sentiment. I’m so happy I ordered one.

3 Safety critical interventions in a 6-mile round trip to the post office tonight with FSD 13.2.9. That’s 2 miles per critical intervention: 1. Goes right through a stop sign shown on map and visualization. See below. 2. At the intersection just past the stop sign, it did not yield right-of-way to oncoming traffic going straight as it was turning left. I had to emergency brake to prevent a collision. Reported. 3. After stopping and waiting at a stoplight appropriately, all of a sudden it accelerated through the stoplight for no apparent reason. I had to emergency brake before much of the car had not entered the intersection. (1) and (2) above are regularly reproducible and I have posted them earlier with videos. Anyone thinking there will be nationwide unsupervised FSD or nationwide Robotaxi this year or next year: you better think again. FSD v14.3.9: My first critical moment with FSD. FSD spotted a stopped school bus on the right side of the road. The bus didn’t appear to have its stop sign out on the driver side. Then FSD suddenly stopped my Tesla before the green light, going from about 60 km/h to a complete stop. After thinking for a second, it decided to continue driving. The Tesla behind me was driven by a woman, and she was NOT happy about the sudden stop at all. As soon as my car started moving again, she sped up, passed me, and gave me a killer stare for several seconds without yelling. Maybe she forgave me because I’m also an FSD driver. 😂 Tesla

At the point I don't even care anymore. FSD is too safe to not allow the user to allow 1 mph rolling stops. I obviously know the law - but the user/supervisor/person responsible for vehicle should be able to allow via an toggle-able OPTION. We can select Mad Max and go 85 in a 55 but cannot select rolling stops to blend in - which saves almost 3 seconds to go from 10mph to "stop" to 10mph??? This is actually probably a piece of increasing take rate. It's too brutal right now to use FSD around others daily. 99.5% of drivers roll stop signs per Tesla. (Not: I accelerated manually in top video in FSD when I "felt" I was not moving) Tesla AI

A Tesla on Full Self-Driving blows through a stop sign at 35mph and nearly collides with two cars. The kicker is that this was during a livestream debate-demo-drive between FSD fan Ross Gerber and FSD skeptic Dan O'Dowd. This should go without saying, but for an automated system to be at the safety level of a human, this cannot happen. The fact that this occurred yesterday during THIS drive (along with other safety-critical disengagements) should serve as statistical evidence of how frequent this is occurring. IMO, this is the biggest nail in the Tesla FSD coffin.

I didn't even see him until FSD was already handling it. A camera-based neural net saw a motorcyclist in a rainstorm that a human didn’t and people are still debating whether this technology works. So Tesla AI FSD just randomly disengaged today when it hit a pothole. I expect the pothole torqued the tire which caused the steering wheel to torque and cause a disengagement. 70 in a 55? ✅ Roll a stop sign? ❌ FSD 14.1.2 Mad Max seems to be for heavy, aggressive traffic so you can fit in better. On open roads, it's going to speed like crazy, so it doesn't make sense to use there. And it's optional, so if you don't like it of course you never have to turn it on. Part of me gets it, but part of me wonders why Tesla would even bring this possible scrutiny on FSD when they already got a slap for rolling a stop sign, which like 99% of drivers do, and I feel is safer to do in many situations anyway.
