Not saying it handled that correctly, but if you look closely this LOOKS like a vehicle with flashing lights blocking a lane. And you would usually see that at construction in which case FSD did the completely correct thing to not use that lane, as it would have workers on it. This is actually a very interesting edge case that shows why non-neural network approaches will never succeed. The real world is weird.

Why the left lane is wrong lane if it’s one way road. Maybe not the preferred lane for the driver but not that wrong. If another car come on same lane behind then the FSD will go to right lane.

FSD keeps sending me into HOV lane even though I’m the only person in the car. Tesla please fix HOV auto detection because it doesn’t work. First clip shows FSD trying to cross double yellow into HOV lane this past Sunday. Second clip shows FSD going into HOV lane this morning during my commute. Both times took me by total surprise. 😱 This morning I thought I’d re-engage FSD and see if it would recognize the mistake driving in HOV lane and get me out of there, but it didn’t. I ended up having to disengage and cross double white to get my car out of HOV. I’m glad there wasn’t a cop there or else I would have gotten a ticket. This has been an ongoing issue with FSD for a while, even before the HOV auto detection feature came out and when I had “use HOV” set to NO. 👎

The driver thought FSD was about to run a red light and prepared to disengage. However, FSD only moved forward slightly and then stopped. it didn’t run the red light. This traffic circle has been a long-standing pain point for me on FSD. As you can see, the car consistently drives in the bike lane here. I’ve documented this behavior before on FSD 12, 13, and now 14. The issue appears to stem from outdated map data. This section of the circle used to function as a two-way roadway. At the time, there was no bike lane and vehicles traveled in the space FSD still prefers today. Since the redesign, that area is now a dedicated bike lane, but FSD doesn’t reliably recognize the change. Depending on the version, it will occasionally handle this correctly, but most of the time it does not. This is currently the only issue I consistently experience with FSD. It’s not safety critical. The car will move if a cyclist, vehicle, or object is present, but reliance on outdated map data in locations like this needs to improve.

FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.

FSD has completely forgotten how to handle this green left turn arrow FSD fights back if you try to hold the accelerator and in 2 of the 3 attempts this causes the wheel to fly around so much I have to grab it This is a major issue that generally results in a critical disengagement (either getting completely stuck at the light or becoming stranded in the intersection if the car goes the wrong way - either way confusing human traffic). Rarely the car does somewhat respond to the accelerator and can be coaxed through. FSD has never had this level of difficulty going through this intersection from this direction through 14.2.2.5
