AUTO LANE CHANGE ISSUES CONTINUE W/ FSD V14.2.1.25 Starting with FSD v14.2, there has been a significant regression in the system's confidence when performing automatic lane changes. If a vehicle is following in the adjacent lane at a safe distance and consistent speed, the ego car will often activate the turn signal and begin crossing the lane line before suddenly aborting the maneuver, pausing briefly, and then either proceeding with the lane change or abandoning it entirely. This behavior appeared in v14.2.1 and unfortunately persists in v14.2.1.25. While it is not a safety issue per se, it is definitely one that needs to be addressed, as it causes confusion and frustration for all surrounding drivers on the road when it occurs. I’m really hoping that FSD V14.2.2 will take care of Mad Max’s annoying and unnecessary lane switches, especially into a lane that’s about to end. This drives me nuts sometimes and definitely makes me look like an asshole on the road 😂

🚨Tesla FSD v14.3.3 saved me from an accident yesterday. A car blocked my visibility of traffic coming from my right; FSD saw it as an appropriate time to proceed. A car from the right was approaching, I never saw it, but the car did, and used the middle lane to merge safely:

🚨 Many of you asked us to test highway driving with Tesla Full Self-Driving v14.2.1.25. Here’s what we noticed: ✅ Speed Profiles are significantly improved. Hurry Mode is no longer capped at 10 MPH over the speed limit, and now travels with the flow of traffic. This is much more comfortable and requires no assistance on the driver’s end. Previously, I was helping it switch lanes with v14.2.1. ✅ Lane changes are performed much more confidently and FSD seems to make proper maneuvers at proper times. This was a regression in v14.2.1. This version is significantly better. ✅ Merging, switching lanes, and passing are all performed with zero interventions. Perhaps the most natural feeling of highway driving in an FSD update in some time. Well done Tesla AI

Just took my Tesla Cybertruck out with FSD Supervised v13.2.9, and it’s next-level! 🤖 The end-to-end driving network is so smooth – nailed lane changes and handled a tight two-lane road like a pro. The 36 Hz AI4 video inputs and low latency make it feel like the truck’s reading the road in real-time.

Yesterday I drove to Cologne. Since FSD is still unavailable in Germany, I had to rely on Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) for the entire trip. Honestly, it was a disappointing experience. EAP makes frequent steering corrections, changes lanes poorly, and feels far less predictable and confidence-inspiring. On roads with unclear lane markings, it constantly wanders left and right, which doesn’t feel safe. After driving over 10,000 km with FSD, the difference is impossible to ignore. FSD drives much more naturally, stays smoother in its lane, and anticipates traffic far better. FSD needs to come to all of Europe as soon as possible. The difference in both comfort and safety is huge.

I love how it chooses lanes—it’s “aggressive” but still very smooth and safe. It makes smart lane changes, often before I even think to do so. Mad Max will actually save you time getting to your destination. The Tesla AI team is cooking.
