V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Because they have jailed the speed limits of non mad max profiles, FSD cannot use acceleration to make this pass. So it ends up camping the left lane.... show more

Wow, Mad Max on the Cybertruck is such a great FSD profile. On the highway, it maintains a quick speed above 80 mph and effortlessly moves around traffic. One of my biggest complaints about FSD has been the speed the truck drives on the highway. It loved to keep me at 74 mph and sit in the left lane - causing fast drivers to pass me on the right. Can’t wait to keep using this for long commutes 🙌🏼

Semi signals left, FSD immediately bleeds 6mph as it anticipates a move by the semi and doesn’t want to path block. Semi shifts back right, FSD hammers it to pass. There’s a computer chip in my car thinking at sub-second speed. Photon in, action out.

FSD v14.3 Suggestion: I’m on a city lane highway today in NE Arizona headed home to Phoenix & even in Mad Max it doesn’t try to pass Super edge case, not mad but hope to see it someday in the future Tesla AI Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

I love you FSD v14.2 - but speed control has to come back soon… or they need to somehow solve misreading speed limits/bad map data. At the end of this clip we are JUST going the speed limit while in mad max. I’ve also had the car think it’s 30 km/h in a 60 km/h zone - in those situations even mad max won’t drive the speed limit and I am forced to use the pedal. This is actually more of a problem now since 14.2 since all of the profiles drive slower than they did in 14.1. I am 100% okay with the slower profiles, but only if the car actually knows the real speed limit.

Mad Max on 14.2.1 is PATHETIC. Traffic on this road moves around 55 to 60. No issue with going 42 to 45 but stay out of the left lane! You can see a car pass me on the right. For context, 13.2.9 in Standard with max speed temporarily set to 60 would go 52 to 55. Perfect.

This is my first full-drive on FSD V14.1.2 with Mad Max mode enabled. All I can say is, WOAH. Mad Max mode lives up to its name, it’s EPIC. It hauls ass everywhere it goes. It accelerates from a standstill very quickly, and weaves through traffic like it’s late for work. It was a totally new experience, it’s fun to use. In no way did I feel unsafe, it was actually incredibly smooth. It makes Hurry Mode feel very pedestrian. Mad Max mode will shine in more dense traffic scenarios, it will definitely save you tons of time. It’s my favorite FSD mode ever.

Misread a truck 45 sign as 45 and pay the price.... Driving speed limit (55) in Hurry in the left lane. Car can no longer pass a car it tries to go around since it's limited to +10mph in Hurry. Even Mad Max stuck in low 60s... This is a real bummer to the experience.

Here is my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.1.2 with the new Mad Max speed profile. Mad Max mode drives very quickly and confidently. It accelerates MUCH quicker off the line (love that) and maxes out at 85mph on the highway. If you like to drive fast, you're going to love this new mode. It may not come through on screen very well, but Mad Max mode makes the car zoom around town like it's on a mission lol. It's unlike any FSD mode Tesla has ever released before. Hurry mode now maxes out at 80mph on the highway, while the new Sloth mode matches the speed limit, which for me tonight was 65mph on the highway.

This kind of clueless driving drives me wild. 🤯 The left lane on the highway is to be used only to pass and then getting back over once you have done so. It is not for cruising! 💯 I see this everywhere I travel.

A recurring frustration with FSD 14.3.3 It still doesn’t remember previous behavior on roads I drive every day. In both of these clips, the car unnecessarily jumps into the left lane (Hurry mode) despite clear reasons not to: • Video 1: The lane is ending and blocked by construction barrels. • Video 2: The left lane is becoming a left-turn only. In both cases, it had to force its way back into the right lane with traffic all around. Definitely not ideal.

Mad Max mode on v14.2 will still try to pass slowing traffic by moving into the right lane then finding its opportunity to cut back in. But now you can make it stay put by cancelling the blinker so you’re not “that guy” Grok knows 😏
