🚨 Super cool thing Tesla FSD v14.1 did: it proceeded thru this intersection to turn left, but the light had gone to red before the turn could be completed. It put itself in reverse and backed up to the “Stop Here on Red” sign/line. Didn’t proceed at a red or impede others.

Any experienced big rig drivers tell me if this semi was being too aggressive on this highway merge? Initially FSD backed off as the semi approached from the side but then FSD went back to the front which created an awkward situation as the semi started sliding into our space. Sprinkle of Cybertruck FSD mishaps. FSD v14.2.1. FSD was getting ready to make a left turn. In fairness, I pushed the pedal as there still was time to make the turn before the oncoming car. However, I took the foot off and the truck came to a stop. Then when the turn was almost complete, FSD threw the red hands and the message said "Aborted with a system error." If you are wondering why I looked at the camera in between, I wanted to make sure it was recording the situation. I have hours of video footage I recorded while driving on FSD 14.2 and 14.2.1.

Rapidfire epic moments on FSD V14.3.5 1) FSD turns right into a small alley that only fits one car at a time, sees oncoming car, reverses out of alley to make space, realizes oncoming car is actually parking, re-enters alley. 2) Insane speed to vehicle cues. As FSD approaches the intersection at the end of the small alley, it yields for traffic, but at the SECOND the car to our left slows, it realizes they’re letting us go and executes with zero hesitation. I just had the most incredible experience on Tesla Full Self-Driving (V14.3.4). Before I even noticed, my Model 3 started reversing to make way for a semi truck making a right turn. It reversed and maneuvered to the perfect position, which allowed the semi to make the turn all by itself. This is sentience.

This driver with the POV turning left says the right of way belongs to his car. The car coming from the opposite direction is turning right and proceeds to merge in front of the car turning left and takes the right of way. I looked, there is no yield sign for the car turning right. Different takes on this - A Dmv instructor said the right hand turn has to wait till it’s clear because they have a shoulder merge with a median in the way. If the median wasn’t there, the left hand turn has to wait. But a professional CDL driver with decades of experience said with an open green light both ways, ( unless the right turn has a yield ) the left turn will ALWAYS yield to straight or right turning traffic. ALWAYS. What do you think? Who has the right of way? The car turning right or the car turning left?

Here’s Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa FSD taking on the worst Dutch car city: Hilversum. Had 2 semi interventions: didn’t disengage but had to make it go manually: 1. Nav was pointing straight but the car chose a right-only lane, forced a lane change indicator and gas and it readjusted 2. Roundabout w split lane failed: was supposed to go straight but hugged a right only lane, used gas manually and it readjusted 3. Small issue: It parked perfectly into a tight space but didn’t fully go into the stall It also seems to ignore the “I have right of way” when it comes to bicycles that have a clear yield sign. This makes sense for safety. I’m biased because I’ve been driving FSD for 7 years in the US. For people who have this as their first experience - minds will be blown. This is absolutely next level and all European car brands will suddenly realize how far behind they are. The future is autonomous and I can’t wait until this rolls out EU wide.

Reasoning is what really changed the game with FSD V14, and as they implement more of it, it’s going to be game over. Here’s a great example. FSD exits the parking lot of this coffee shop. If you zoom into the nav at the top right corner, you can see that it’s telling me to turn left (illegal to do so here). This has been a map error at this shop for a while. On all previous FSD versions, I’d disengage here as FSD would try to make the illegal left. With V14.2 reasoning, the car gathers context, understands it isn’t supposed to turn left here/ignores nav and triggers the re-route.

While taking DJ to his hotel in Houston this afternoon, we discussed one of things we keep hearing over and over again in the comments to my video post from yesterday, that the Cybertruck had FSD disengaged for four seconds prior to impact. So after leaving DJ's hotel and heading back home, I went back to the Eastex Park & Ride exit ramp, and did the same thing as yesterday (let FSD take me up the ramp), but this time I disengaged FSD at the exact same location where the Fox News video starts, which was four seconds prior to the impact. I think the video speaks for itself.
