FSD v14.3.10 just aborted self-driving for a system error (red hands) for what seems to be no reason? The cameras were clear, I was paying attention, no rain or fog, no cars around either. It was an empty country road, so I just waited to see if it corrected...

Check Service Mode for alerts. Issue will be logged in there. Easy enough to do.

It was asking, are you sure you want to go there?

I need to check my logs. This happened twice today for me.

Wow that’s very odd. Try checking the logs in service mode like Christian mentioned, it should be stored in there.

Looks like nothing in the logs for yesterday at 8:52 PM

Wow that’s really odd. I’m surprised there’s nothing in there that saved. Nothing came up before the red hands, it just went straight to it?

Фото профиля Aryan Butala
Aryan Butala9 дней назад

Just straight to red hands yeah. And it was doing extremely well with the glare coming from cars on the other side. Even when I literally couldnt see. Even in pitch black with hill country roads it was fine. Maybe the car's body rolled too much at an angle during the turn and it thought it crashed/ flipped over?

Фото профиля Aryan Butala
Aryan Butala9 дней назад

@grok what do u think it could be? I was paying attention (no phone, no tiredness, didn't unbuckle my belt or open the door, the camera was clear. The body of the car did roll a bunch in that turn though

Фото профиля Diego Suarez

@grok That’s gotta be what it was. I’ve had it handle dark country roads very well. Still weird that it didn’t save to the logs though.

Фото профиля Aryan Butala
Aryan Butala9 дней назад

@grok Yeah, Grok says apparently it logged and got deleted since it was a false alarm. It told me to check as soon as it happens next time

@grok Wow I didn’t know the car could clear false codes like that on its own, super cool!

bet fsd monitors how bumpy the ride is, and might of assumed it could be off roading due to how bad those roads were...honestly the best move

the right side dipped down which activated traction control, if traction control activates it has a high chance to have a system error

I have seen something similar on some builds when the side (b pillar) cameras cannot see ANYTHING. (pitch black). The system thinks the cameras are occluded.

Same issue here on latest update. Never happened first 43K using FSD. On a road I use weekly.

It could've been a FSD coded error that thought the car lost traction or just couldn't regain correct balance fast enough (all the bumps), so it threw up the red hands without outputting an alert in the service logs. Very interesting.

Фото профиля Aryan Butala
Aryan Butala9 дней назад

Yeah. It was really bumpy and the body of the car rolled a lot, possibly lost traction too

Only time I have been given red hands while using FSD is when it snowed and they pilled up ice and snow in the road that my car went over, reminds me of that.

It has happened to me twice in the last week. I figured FSD system is under attack due to viral escape velocity. Reward for tectonic level disruption.

Mine braked hard and swerved for absolutely NOTHING on a 4 lane highway doing 65 mph. It was also a pain in the ass trying to keep the speed around 65, would drift down to 60 in standard, then go 74 in hurry. Profiles still suck

ever since 14.3.9 the sensitivity has increased it seems. whether its a bug or. not who knows but suggest not updating until there’s a more stable version. tesla updates have become like iphone updates now unfortunately

The highbeams/Matrix LED just stop illuminating the road ahead. I think, since the car can't see much ahead, it refuses to keep going

It’s scared of the dark. It will often say the cameras are obstructed when they only see darkness.

I used to have issues like this when stationed in rural Missouri—while their navigation service is good in large urban sprawl, it’s consistently useless in the middle of nowhere. I would not be surprised if this is not related to a missing road node.

Heavy fog continues to be a place where I do not trust FSD, especially heavy fog during wet road conditions. Not because I think there’s a sensor problem, but because I don’t trust the awareness of the brain yet. This reminds me of snow pre-V14, and rain pre end-to-end highway. It’s not that I necessarily needed to disengage here. It’s clear that it would’ve been fine if I didn’t. BUT, I have no reason to believe I would’ve been fine if some obstruction was sitting in the road around the next bend, because FSD is not adjusting behavior at all as it passes through these conditions. It is doing nothing to signal awareness to me that it understands it has limited visibility along with reduced road friction. Can cameras see better in fog than humans? Definitely. But not so much better that you wouldn’t want to dramatically slow down here to minimize required stopping distance. I think the idea that other sensors are needed for fog is nonsense. It can be done just fine with brains, but it needs to adjust here every single time whether it sees an object or not. It needs to go slower. This is how FSD used to behave in snow. It could do it, but it never adjusted properly to signal awareness to the user. I still have the same problem in dense fog. It doesn’t feel safe to me. I don’t trust that it knows what it’s doing in these moments yet. This 100% fixable with a better brain, just not there yet for me.
