I can’t tell if they are actual emergency vehicles but I think maybe it saw the flashing lights of the trucks straight ahead and was stopping for them

I have it for this frequently at advanced left's. I have to regularly give it a nudge with the accelerator. On the upside after the latest Nav update it obeys 40km/h zones finally

Yes I think that guy is right about the emergency lights but I do know I would have been scared like hell to press the accelerator because as we all know sometimes FSD sees things coming we don’t (I assume here you were VERY careful)

This behavior varies according to the drive mode, sloth, chill, standard, hurry or mad max. Generally the FSD is slow to jump out into the flow of traffic, but it will listen to a little nudge on the "gas" pedal and move on out into the flow.

It’s like it decided it wasn’t in the left turn lane anymore. The signal turns off on its own then only turns back on once you force the move.

This exact scenario happened to me the other day on 14.3.6 and it probably represented the most serious intervention that I have had, which is really a testament to how good FSD has become because it isn’t that bad of a mistake.

Any chance it may have thought someone was going to run the red? Usually I'll see it creep slightly then stop in that case but don't have the other cameras here

Nothing like that for me on .6 which fixed most all the regressions I had with .4 and .5. Usually if it doesn't want to go at a green there is something it sees that may not be first apparent I've found. Oncoming traffic from the side that it may notice, emergency vehicle or something that "looks" like one. Etc. In this case as others have pointed out, the truck with all the blinky lights may have been making it think it was an emergency vehicle so possibly it was that. The car is very sensitive to those since 14.3.x dropped for sure. I do hope that eventually we may get reasoning notes enough to tell us why the car is actively doing something so we don't have to guess or assume as much for oddball things.

Had something similar on FSD 14.3.6. When the light turned green (not flashing green) the car started turning then slowed down to stop. No people, no emergency vehicles. I had a car behind me so I pressed the accelerator and it resumed.

What you are seeing is the consequence of Tesla trying to squeeze a large autonomy model into HW4. In the AI world, HW4 is puny. This is why Robotaxi is stuck until AI5. Let Grok explain.

Mine did this on a double left green arrow this week (v14.3.6). Navigation had us going straight instead of being in the turn lane, but it was too late to move over. I think the truck was going to sit there and wait for the normal green to turn and then switch lanes once the lane next to us cleared... but I obviously pressed the accelerator to force it into the turn because there were people behind us.

Reasoning is what really changed the game with FSD V14, and as they implement more of it, it’s going to be game over. Here’s a great example. FSD exits the parking lot of this coffee shop. If you zoom into the nav at the top right corner, you can see that it’s telling me to turn left (illegal to do so here). This has been a map error at this shop for a while. On all previous FSD versions, I’d disengage here as FSD would try to make the illegal left. With V14.2 reasoning, the car gathers context, understands it isn’t supposed to turn left here/ignores nav and triggers the re-route.

Sprinkle of Cybertruck FSD mishaps. FSD v14.2.1. FSD was getting ready to make a left turn. In fairness, I pushed the pedal as there still was time to make the turn before the oncoming car. However, I took the foot off and the truck came to a stop. Then when the turn was almost complete, FSD threw the red hands and the message said "Aborted with a system error." If you are wondering why I looked at the camera in between, I wanted to make sure it was recording the situation. I have hours of video footage I recorded while driving on FSD 14.2 and 14.2.1.

🚨 Super cool thing Tesla FSD v14.1 did: it proceeded thru this intersection to turn left, but the light had gone to red before the turn could be completed. It put itself in reverse and backed up to the “Stop Here on Red” sign/line. Didn’t proceed at a red or impede others.

This major issue with the FSD 14.3 branch is still present in 14.3.4. FSD has completely forgotten how to handle this green left turn arrow FSD fights back if you try to hold the accelerator and in 2 of the 3 attempts this causes the wheel to fly around so much I have to grab it This is a major issue that generally results in a critical disengagement (either getting completely stuck at the light or becoming stranded in the intersection if the car goes the wrong way - either way confusing human traffic). Rarely the car does somewhat respond to the accelerator and can be coaxed through. FSD has never had this level of difficulty going through this intersection from this direction through 14.2.2.5

Now I can say for sure that FSD v13.2.2 responds to both flashing lights and sirens of emergency vehicles. I had a similar experience a couple of days ago but I wasn’t 100% sure since there was another vehicle ahead of me. Tonight at this intersection, I noticed the traffic lights turned green and my CT didn’t move. Then I heard a brief siren sound from my left. I saw an ambulance approaching the intersection from the left and made a right turn. Once the ambulance was behind us as seen in the 2nd clip, my CT started to proceed. FSD is getting intelligent by the day.

FSD wants to make a left turn at this light but pauses twice for oncoming traffic. I applaud this. That truck was blocking a lot of the view and the system was fast to pause. I like the fast response to “danger”.

🚨 Tesla FSD v14.3.9 has been very impressive in other ways. Yesterday in the Y L we had a pretty heavy rain and I was coming off a back road. FSD stopped short to allow a vehicle to have an easier turn, then took its own turn slowly to not impede oncoming traffic

I got stuck in an infinite autonomous loop! Due to hard coded NHTSA regulation, FSD MUST turn left when in a left turn lane... but needed to enter the left turn lane to get around an obstruction. But FSD drove the loop perfectly. V12 solves this Tesla Elon Musk

I have HW3 and HW4 Teslas and I use FSD all the time. I’ve never experienced curb rash myself when FSD is activated but I always stay vigilant because of some complaints on X. Today, my Cybertruck made a left turn and I thought it was extremely close to the center island by looking at the driver-side mirror. Nothing happened but I was curious. I downloaded the clip and sure enough there is barely any margin between the tire and the curb. This is the closest I’ve ever seen.

Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me. TESLA FSD WARNING: ‼️ I need Tesla’s attention on this. It’s an easy fix. Tesla FSD Subscription has a HUGE LOOPHOLE and to me, it’s very dangerous. My subscription was canceled, without my knowledge. I have no strikes - ever. My subscription was automated withdraw. I have money in the account. This was unexpected and the “expectation of having FSD” Is the danger. I found this issue out mid stop light turn. When I thought it was FSD Engaged but it was actually Autopilot. The TINY message pre-drive saying, “Your Autopilot settings have been reset” was not understood. I thought it was in reference to speed settings. It was not. If I had started my drive from my driveway this would have been obvious, but I wait until I’m out of my neighborhood at a speed of 45mph, before I cut it on. At this point it is was not an obvious difference between Auto Pilot and FSD. It BECAME OBVIOUS mid stoplight turn. Tesla needs to fix this. If a subscription is ended, an acknowledgment of the car not having FSD should be required at the BEGINNING of the drive. Fix this Tesla. Sawyer Merritt ALEX Elon Musk

When you mount a camera to your car and run it every time you FSD in your Tesla, you’re bound to catch those little moments of pure magic that give you chills. This might be my favorite I’ve ever captured. Here’s a very awkward edge case. I am approaching a railroad crossing from an adjacent road. At the very moment I approach the stop sign, the lights begin to flash, and the bell begins to ring. FSD V14.2 does its NHTSA stop, and is at the point when it would normally proceed (BEFORE the gate arms begin to fall). FSD is able to gather context from the flashing red lights and the sound of the bell. From an adjacent road. Without any gate arm movement as additional cue. I really wasn’t sure here, and thought I might need to take over because of our awkward positioning, and because the arms weren’t going to drop before FSD would typically go. But nope. No problem for the sentient AI. As a cherry on top… when the gate lifts, the silver car waves me on and FSD begins to engage the right turn, but it stops before executing the turn…. Wtf?… oh lol. Forgot my robot car has eyes on the side of its head. Unbelievable technology. This company is at the very beginning of something incredible. Sustainable abundance or die trying. ❤️

FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.
