Who is dumping garbage under this flyover near MES Road behind JP Park? And why has this garbage still not been cleaned? The amount of waste piled up here clearly shows this is not garbage thrown in just one day. People have been continuously using this place as an illegal dumping spot without any fear or civic responsibility. Plastic waste, food packets, and other trash are scattered everywhere, turning the area into a health hazard and an eyesore for the public.What happened to basic civic sense? Public spaces and roads are not dumping yards. It is disappointing to see people carelessly throwing garbage wherever they want and then expecting the city to remain clean. Such irresponsible behavior not only damages the environment but also affects the image of Bengaluru. At the same time, authorities also need to answer why this garbage has been allowed to pile up for so long without proper cleaning or monitoring. If regular inspections and strict action were taken, these areas would not turn into mini garbage landfills under flyovers.Both the public and authorities share responsibility here. Maybe I’m missing something, but if people are too scared to publicly express their faith, how do we explain the thousands gathering openly in Trafalgar Square for public prayers and religious events? Genuine question: does that look like a community living in fear, or a community confident enough to practise its religion in one of the most famous public spaces in the country?

Utility corridors are being misused as dumping grounds. There was a fire at one of the towers this afternoon. One person’s carelessness can put everyone’s life at risk. This is not a small issue. Authorities must raise awareness and enforce accountability. Media and housing NGOs also need to step up and educate people on how dangerous this behavior is.

This is how Indian police deal with Islamists who try to pray in public spaces and block roads. No negotiations. No special treatment. No fear of being called “Islamophobic.” They simply enforce the law and clear the area. Meanwhile, in many European countries, authorities often stand by or even accommodate such blockades out of fear of escalation or accusations of racism. Different approaches. Different results.

Today a group of Muslims prayed next to the Ministry of Defence, facing the Iraq and Afghanistan memorial. As I have said before, choosing to pray in this way in public is a political act. It is a social statement and, yes, it is an act of domination. Anybody who understands Islamism understands that the domination of public spaces is part of the modus operandi. It is done so Islamists can show who is in charge - and to show other Muslims and the wider public that the authorities will bend to their will. There is quite obviously no need to pray here. The decision to do so is symbolic and pointed. It is not welcome. We have freedom of religion in this country, which is why there are mosques. But we are not a Muslim country and this is not welcome. It should be stopped.
