What you're seeing is someone using a padded pole as a spear a pole that is notably more flexible than it needs to be, which affects the spearmans capability. You're also seeing neither opponent grapple, which is a key technique in this particular pair up. Lee rightly sites that the swordsman needs to close ground on the spearman. I spent a good while talking about how to get past that spear tip, but the end goal is to do so with such timing that either the spearman cannot defend the coming attack or The swordsman uses their offhand to grapple spear shaft and close on his opponent. I don't know what these guys are training and whether it's HEMA SCA or whatever, but they are foregoing that set of options. Skill is actually Paramount here. The manipulation of timing, rhythm, and distance are the master level techniques of all combat.
