Scottie Scheffler was asked ahead of the BMW Championship his thoughts on the new changes coming on the PGA Tour and whether he’d like to see any of the LIV players back. On the incoming changes, he said: “Getting the best players competing against each other more often is what we want as players. I assume, you guys in the media, that’s what you’d want to see. I assume that’s what the fans want as well and I think that’s the direction that we’re heading. “Making things a bit simpler in terms of who’s going to be at what tournament at what time. Golf has always been a difficult game to rank when you’re not playing head to head, and so getting the best players playing head to head more often than not in a proper tournament is, I think, the best way to do things.” He then was asked whether he’d like to see the PGA Tour offering LIV Golf players the same opportunity to return that was given to Brooks Koepka earlier this year: “Yeah, I think, when we talk about the best players, LIV has a few players that are really good. I think, the depth that we have on our tour is unmatched, but when you look at higher levels of LIV Golf there are definitely players that would provide a value to the tour and guys that I love competing against as well. “So I think going forwards there obviously has to be some kind of penalties. What they are, I’ll let Rolapp and all those guys figure it out. We have great leadership within the tour now. “But I think having those guys coming back and competing, whatever happens with LIV, whether those guys want to leave, you’ve got to ask them. But for me being able to compete against the best players in the world, there’s definitely some guys that can compete out here and I look forward to the chance of being able to compete with them more often.” PGA TOUR BMW Championship

WHY DON’T MORE PLAYERS WORK ON THIS? Offensive experts say that good spacing is the oxygen of any efficient and productive offense. Yet, I don’t see players working on spacing and reshaping the floor. You would think that any 1v0, 1v1, 2v2, etc drills can easily work in perimeter movements, cuts, and relocation to help lock these concepts in to the players head. Of course, players need the individual technical skill to put the ball in the basket, make plays, etc…. But it’s no surprise that the ones that have that technical skill and then really understand how to play in a team setting are the ones that figure out how to overachieve.

The “Jab Start” is an advantage 1v1 and a great way to work multiple facets of your one-on-ones! A jab shifts your defender’s weight in the direction of the jab and then by pausing or hesitating and leaning back, you can shift their weight back to the center which allows you to catch them flat-footed. The Jab Hesitation move will get you a huge step. This “Jab” start also allows players to work on how to capitalize on an advantage. If you get a bigger step you can learn to hesi or on the run hitch to buy time or draw checks. If you get a smaller step, it’s the perfect time to practice initiating contact and bouncing into space.

Tim on giving out red cards for players covering their mouths: "This is a load of shite. Because, for a very long time, very long time - I'm talking decades - the governing bodies have never been able to get ahold of racism. They don't know what to do. They poop their pants when they have to make a decision based on someone saying something racist. Now, they wanna go back and stand behind players covering their mouths."

Max Levchin explains why B-players hire C-players The co-founder of PayPal and Affirm reflects on the famous Steve Jobs insight that A-players hire A-players, and B-players hire C-players: “It’s profoundly true. But there should be an asterisk explaining why this is true. And the reason for this is fear.” A-players love working with other A-players because they know it will make them better. They want other A-players who challenge them and will tell them when their work isn’t good. Most B-players are net positive too, but as Max argues, some are fearful and will say: “If I have too many B-players or A-players around, I will look terrible and it’ll be very obvious that I’m just not that good. So the way to fix this is for me to become a manager and hire a bunch of people who aren’t very good at all so that I’ll look like the tallest mushroom.” Max continues: “That is the real danger of B-players. Having people who are perfectly willing to do good work day-in and day-out is not the worst thing in the world. There’s plenty of things that A-players will turn their nose from because it’s just not that challenging. B-players are very good for that [type of work]. Playing time is the ultimate motivator Every program has their non negotiables, and within the program each player has a certain role that they need to crush. A lot of players and parents struggle with the idea that you don’t get unlimited mistakes and chances. At some point, if you aren’t producing, you won’t be able to play. This will happen to 95% of players.. whether it’s for a couple possessions, for a couple games, or for a season. The real tell is the players ability to learn from it and grow!

Too much focus on overloaded practices, rondos and positional play inevitably leads to quick play and Group possession focus type outcomes. Also when do you let your players practice moving at full speed with the ball? This is where ball Mastery comes in and 1v1, 2v2 & 3v3 practices. I say the players I work with all the time. You should be able to move as quickly with the ball as you do without it, but unfortunately most Team sessions the ⚽️becomes like a hot potato.
