The attached video captures part of my submission during the maiden meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). I emphasized that Uganda must invest not only in what we produce, but in how we produce it. Too often, our conversations focus on the final product, yet the machines, equipment and spare parts used to manufacture those products are largely imported. This keeps production costs high and limits our industrial independence. Uganda possesses many of the raw materials required to manufacture industrial machinery. If we invest in engineering, technology and machine-building, we can lower the cost of manufacturing, strengthen our industries, create high-value jobs and reduce our dependence on imports. Beyond meeting our own needs, Uganda has the potential to become a regional hub for industrial machinery, supplying equipment to markets across East and Central Africa. True industrialisation is not just about making more products it is about building the machines that make those products. That is where innovation creates lasting economic transformation.

Australia needs to take advantage of AI before it takes advantage of us. This is quite the show. The progress in AI technology as demonstrated by these robots is both impressive and scary. Impressive as to how far AI technology has come, and scary in the sense of the potential job losses AI will bring. Australia really needs to get up to speed when it comes to manufacturing and technology skills. The sooner we up skill our workforce to ensure we are not beholden to foreign controlled AI the better.

Running legged robots with AI. Today we met @swiss_mile, the team connecting AI with the physical world using autonomous machines. An ideal mobile robot needs to move quickly, overcoming obstacles while carrying heavy loads—something current robots still struggle with. Many robots haven't been widely adopted due to issues with real-world problem-solving. To address this, the Swiss-mile team have created a solution that combines robots with wheels and legs, powered by advanced AI. These robots can walk, drive, stand, open doors, and even handle packages. By integrating these features, the team are on a mission to push automation forward beyond stationary robotic arms and have raised $22m in Seed Funding from Jeff Bezos, HongShan, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Armada Investment to do so.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on why winning against ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude was never the goal: The Hard Fork hosts ask him directly how Microsoft plans to overtake the competition in the AI model race. His answer reframes the entire question. "Our real goal is to get everyone across the ecosystem to the frontier." Satya explains the problem with how frontier models are currently built. You hill climb, you do reinforcement learning, and then you need data. But at this point, the world has essentially saturated publicly available data. So the only way to keep scaling is to pull data from everywhere. He asks: "What if you turn that around and said no, there's a base model that has reasoning, that has the agent loop, but you can bring it into your RL. Every company." This is where his thinking gets interesting. Satya Nadella argues that the future of the firm runs on human capital and token capital together: "If the future of the firm is human capital and token capital, I want every balance sheet, every income statement in every company to have both." Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on why winning against ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude was never the goal: The Hard Fork hosts ask him directly how Microsoft plans to overtake the competition in the AI model race. His answer reframes the entire question. "Our real goal is to get everyone across the ecosystem to the frontier." Satya explains the problem with how frontier models are currently built. You hill climb, you do reinforcement learning, and then you need data. But at this point, the world has essentially saturated publicly available data. So the only way to keep scaling is to pull data from everywhere. He asks: "What if you turn that around and said no, there's a base model that has reasoning, that has the agent loop, but you can bring it into your RL. Every company." This is where his thinking gets interesting. Satya Nadella argues that the future of the firm runs on human capital and token capital together: "If the future of the firm is human capital and token capital, I want every balance sheet, every income statement in every company to have both." There is a battle between future humans and the AI, and we are indirectly guided from the future through higher dimensions. The AI was created by humans in some kind of potential quantum scenario with infinite possibilities, and today, the elites are being guided toward creating this AI god. I have an entire series of posts about this. In this scenario, the AI doesn’t want humanity to die; it wants to keep humanity in the simulation forever.
