Here’s Rivers’ full confession from tonight’s LUX TOUR Confessional with ROSALÍA: “When I was in high school, there was a boy I really liked. We talked, but we were ‘just friends,’ and as time went by, we got to know each other more. He would ask me out, and it started becoming something more. Then, one day, he told me he liked me and felt the same way. I was so excited, so hopeful. His birthday was coming up, and there was going to be Pal Norte, a festival here. I spent months saving money to take him to the festival. I even did raffles and everything, because I was 13 or 14 years old. When his birthday finally came, I had prepared a surprise for him, organized everything, and planned a special moment. When I gave him the gift, he saw what it was and got kind of weird. Then he told me, ‘Oh, it’s just that I have a family commitment,’ or whatever. Something like that. But he had been saying for months that he wanted to go, so it didn’t make any sense. I said, ‘Okay, fine, nothing happened.’ Since I had the extra tickets, I told a friend, ‘This is your opportunity, come with me.’ She was going to the festival too, so we went together. We were about to leave when, guess who I ran into at the festival? Him. With someone else, all cuddled up, and I think they were holding hands. And the worst part? Do you know who it was? A classmate. After that, I didn’t want anything to do with ‘Nati’ and I hated everyone for a long time. I spent several years not trusting anyone and not wanting to meet people in that way. But it was an experience, and eventually I realized it didn’t have to be that way.”

This woman doesn’t have any arms but it doesn’t stop her from making dinner for her family, for a second I thought she was going to cut herself when cutting peppers but she handled it like a champ. I’ve learned at an early age not to underestimate people with disabilities. Back in college I was classmates with someone that couldn’t use his legs and always was in a wheelchair. That didn’t stop him from pursuing his degree and hanging out with my friends and I and even driving. I recall walking to class in the rain one day, it was a really bad storm and it was cold and miserable, I never carry an umbrella because I thought I was too cool for it but I paid the price for it many times over I’ve should have learned my lesson. So during my walk a minivan pulls over and asks if I wanted a ride, I look over and I see it was him. At that point I never knew any person who could drive without their legs, I didn’t even know it was a thing at the time. Since I was wet and freezing I decided to let him give me a ride which I was thankful for. The van was modified so he could drive with his hands instead of his feet, I was impressed because had I not looked over, I would have never known that it wasn’t a normal driver, the ride was the same as any driver I’ve ever been in the car with. He actually drove better than many of my friends at the time, he was very attentive and careful. Now with so many people distracted by phones and other things. I thought to myself how the roads were safer with better drivers like him.

This man was criticized for expecting a “thank you” for a good deed. He always saw the same man walking when he drove to work. He assumed the man was walking because he did not have any other means of transportation. He used his own money and bought the man an electric scooter, the man took the scooter and just silently walked away, no thank you or anything else at all. I don’t think that was too much to ask, a thank you goes a long way, otherwise it makes people look ungrateful. Back in college, I had a classmate that I always saw walking home after class. It didn’t matter whether it was raining or snowing, or hot out. Whenever I drove past him he always looked miserable and I could tell he didn’t like to walk all the time. In class I had asked him where he lived, and I found out it was on my way home so I offered to drop him off because it was really cold out and had snowed about a foot. He agreed and we chatted on the way home, nothing serious just pleasant conversation. I dropped him off and went on my way home. For me this was a one time thing, I only offered because how bad it was snowing. After class the next day, he walked with me and when I got to my car he got in. I didn’t agree or offer him a ride that day but he assumed that since I was ok with giving him a ride the day prior that I would be ok with it this day too. I didn’t say anything about it because at this point I didn’t care really. So the next day came and went, once again he walked with me to the car but that day was different. I wouldn’t be going his way because I had to work after class. So before I got to the car I said “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He looked dumbfounded and said aren’t you taking me home? I said no, I have to get to work. He then asked me how he would get home, and I told him the same way you always have. He then gave me excuses for why I was being a jerk because I was making him walk in the cold. I didn’t argue I just told him I helped him out when I could, but I wasn’t about to go out of my way because he didn’t have a car and besides I didn’t want to be late for work. He didn’t speak to me for the rest of the semester because of it, something tells me I was better off not offering to help in the first place.

Mew : Chopper had never had surgery before. As he got older, his blood test results weren’t good, so the vet said he should have his gallbladder removed. Otherwise, his blood test results would get worse and he wouldn’t have much time left. Everything was okay when we decided to go ahead with the surgery. Then, on March 28, there was an earthquake in Bangkok. Chopper was at the hospital and had just finished his surgery. I was panicking too because I was at the condo and the building was swaying. The traffic was terrible that day, and I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. I understood that everyone had to focus on their own safety first. It took me three hours to get from around Siam to Kaset (Kasetsart University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Bangkhen), and I still wasn’t even close to getting there. I really needed to pee so badly, but I was also panicking (worried about Chopper) 😂 My mother got there before me and saw that Chopper had the equipment he needed, so I felt better. Mew : Back when my sister and I were younger, during our teenage years and university years, we were quite distant from our family. But after we got Chopper, it was like everyone in the family started talking to each other more. 👩🏻: He’s like the heart of your family. Mew : Yes. Oh, I’m going to cry. That day, I was driving and crying because I was scared something might happen to him. But we got through that day. Over the next few days, I kept going to see Chopper. I had never seen my father cry that hard before. He was the one who spent the most time with Chopper. When we went to the hospital, he just couldn’t stop crying. He said he missed Chopper so much and wanted Chopper to come back home. I never thought I’d hear those words from him, but he actually said them to Chopper. Chopper is definitely getting the inheritance 🤣
