This man was always excited about Skyline Chili, he’s heard from co-workers how good it was and always wanted to. On his day he happened to be in the vicinity of one and decided to try it out. Immediately when he walked in, he wasn’t greeted at all, in fact they ignored him. The cashier that begrudgingly took his order seemed forced and was bothered by having to serve him. He felt like they made it a point make him feel unwelcome. He ordered the food for dine in, waited a while for it and saw that they packed it in bags to go, further emphasizing how not welcome he was, determined to get the full experience, he sat and ate. I should start by saying I'm no journalist. Today, a random boy from Kavango East approached me and my colleagues as we sat by the parking outside. First we thought he was begging. Only for him to tell us his name is George Kakuwa. Then he went on to say he was the boy who walked 200km to Rundu to attend the founding father's memorial service last year (2025) in February. I of course searched up the newspaper article just to make sure it was him. Before I could even verify, he continued saying he never got his money and he never went back to school. Most of us remember this story, and how he was hailed as a symbol of youthful inspiration, so much so that a certain amount was pledged to help him and his grandmother with his school. But according to him, it never reached the boy or the family. I recorded the video as evidence, his words are his own whether true or not. Someone should definitely follow up on this story to verify. today would have been Oliver Tree birthday . he brought me so much joy just to know a creator that loved and breathed his art 1000% every time I see him I felt like I wasn’t doing enough .. but it wasn’t just the work as a musician it was life . he lived it every moment to the fullest - he gave everything in his bones to making the world a better place with his music . a lot of people might have just been turned on to him that wasn’t familiar . and he would be so happy to see the impact he had .. at a great time with everyone looksmaxing, faking their way to the algorithm and making music for the money - he tried to steer humanity into a greater place where being the best version yourself is the greatest gift you can give... this is one of the demos we had - in retrospect it makes me cry to listen back to.. what a big heart this man had

I’m happy to see him get some opportunity and make the most of it out there. We were both extremely focused on the game, but lots of jokes going back and forth up and down the floor. I kind of learned how to be a professional when it comes down to being on the court. Obviously, Drew is very known for being a goofy and not-take-life-too-serious kind of guy. But when it came to basketball, he was all business with how he prepared for it and how he played the game. It was great to be able to watch that and learn from him. I’ve just tried to apply that to my journey.”

Watching today’s match and seeing the crowd reaction to Novak really made me think back to 2022. It was an absolutely insane time, Djokovic was detained in a hellhole in Australia and none of us knew whether he would be allowed to play - or freed from that room. My daughter Tara who was 7, decided to make him a poster with the message “Stay strong and fight”… She even drew him a “duck in a pond and some grass” because she knew he wasn’t allowed outside despite loving nature 😭 And she ends the video with “Hope your case goes right on Monday” (referring to his court case … ⚖️ When Novak came to Wimbledon that year, I queued up with the poster as I wanted to get it signed by him. There were a lot of papers thrust in front of him by others, but I remember him seeing the poster and then looking up to ask “Hey, how are you?” I was a bit taken aback as it felt like he recognised it… maybe he did or maybe he didn’t… but he has that special gift of making you feel so special with the warmth he exudes. I didn’t say much… I was in too much shock! ⚡️ Anyway, of course he signed it and til today, Tara cherishes the poster… Novak: a special champion and a special person.
