The pitch goes to home and Armstrong is off trying to steal second base. He slides into second and is called safe. New York challenges the call and it is overturned and he is called out. They said he came off the bag. Not strange right? However, it was ball four. Pete is entitled to second base. You can hear the announcers- “it doesn’t matter if he’s tagged. It’s ball four. The ball drops, and if he hustles out of the box, he’s standing on second base. Even Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow called him out for it. Yes, Devers can hit. But being a complete winning ballplayer is about more than hitting. It’s effort, awareness and doing the little things when every run matters. That’s not winning baseball.

This is an impossible catch for the first baseman with a ball thrown from that angle, that hard.
