It’s Saturday morning so going to unabashedly crowdsource. If any of the much smarter than me homeowners out there can listen to this sound, it’s coming from our attic periodically and sounds like a man with a leaf blower is just hanging out up there. No AC/Heat is on. It’s in a pretty inaccessible part of the attic. Local to this area of the home. Completely confused as to what it could be. Sounds like a pump or motor.

The k- drama We Are All Trying Here is a must watch I know some people will watch one episode and call it boring. Because It’s not fast paced. It’s slice of life in the most literal sense people sitting in rooms with their envy, their 20 year old dreams that never launched, their friends who made it while they didn’t. It’s quiet. It’s slow. It lingers on silences. But that’s exactly why it gutted me. Because this show understands the war you don’t talk about. The one where you open Instagram at 2am and feel like a failure. Where you’ve been “trying” for years and the world still doesn’t know your name. Hwang Dong-man, twenty years into film school, still no debut. Byeon Eun-ah, called “The Axe” because she has to kill other people’s dreams for a living. Everyone in this drama is carrying some private worthlessness, some comparison they can’t shake. It’s not entertaining in the way K-dramas usually are. It’s uncomfortable. It holds up a mirror to the parts of you that feel behind, bitter, unseen. But that’s why it’s so relatable. That’s why I think everyone should watch it. On the outside, life looks fine but inside, everyone is struggling in their own way. And I think that’s what makes it so relatable. We all smoke our way, for now I have mastered the art of the glass tip cone style. It’s not a specialty roll by any means, but it’s consistent for me. I don’t have the fine hand coordination nor the patience to fuck up a hand roll when I can do this pretty easily and it smokes as proper as a good hand roll. When I have more time away from serving, I’ll practice hand rolling but this is how I smoke.

Fixed this small bug in Linear’s app today which I often see in other apps as well. Here’s a small before/after. The issue: When you open a popover inside a modal (think a custom select), clicking outside the popover to close it also closes the modal. The desired behavior is to close the select on click outside while keeping the modal open. This often happens because custom dropdowns or select components are rendered in a portal. The modal then treats the interaction as an outside click because, technically, the dropdown isn’t inside the modal in the DOM, it’s rendered elsewhere via a portal. The fix depends on your setup, whether it’s Radix/Base UI, fully custom etc. But since you now know the cause of it, you can ask your agent to fix it for you!

I think it’s about time I hire a packer. It’s getting really difficult to keep up with all the packing. The problem is, I’m kind of stuck right now. I have little ones at home, so I really don’t want someone coming into my garage to work. At the same time, I’m not at the level yet where I can justify leasing a small warehouse. This video rubs me the wrong way. It’s a dangerous attitude that I see often among people whose confidence is greater than their competence. In climbing, it’s common courtesy to offer “beta” to other climbers. Beta is useful information about a route that usually isn’t found in guidebooks or online. One key piece of beta can save you a lot of trouble, so smart climbers—even professional guides—will take all they can get. 99.9% of the time, when someone offers beta—whether to a man or woman—they’re just trying to help. I get that sexism and "mansplaining" exist, but when you’re engaged in a high-consequence activity, it’s time to check your defensiveness and become a sponge for information. This post isn't just about climbing: God gave us 2 ears and only 1 mouth for a reason... 👂People who listen avoid trouble and more importantly, they learn. Observe the very best at any endeavor and you'll see that they're sponges, never too good to learn something new.

Take curbside glass pickup. Not long ago, residents had to load up their cars and drive to a depot. It was inconvenient, and the result was predictable: too much glass ended up in blue bins or the garbage. So we fixed it. Today, curbside glass pickup is delivered directly to homes that receive City waste services. It’s done efficiently, reliably, and by our own crews. It’s a better service, it’s easier for residents, and it’s the kind of practical improvement that makes a real difference in people’s lives. It’s just one example of what’s possible happens when you stay relentlessly focused on core municipal services, and you’re willing to constantly assess, improve, and adapt. We believe that good government isn’t about doing less or doing more — it’s about doing what matters, and doing it well.

Because it flips the idea that mass is fundamental. Instead: mass might be emergent. In my view: Mass isn’t a property… it’s a response to time/field structure. Change the structure… you change the mass. So the real question is: Are particles “things”… or just stable patterns in a deeper field? Follow me physics isn’t discovering matter… it’s discovering what creates it.

【Dungeon Overdose Playtesters Wanted】 I’m looking for people to playtest Dungeon Overdose. I’m a solo indie developer, and I’m opening up the current development build. And when I say “current development build,” I mean it. It’s not a polished demo. It’s not finished. It’s still being balanced and there are definitely things that might be confusing, unbalanced, or just bad. That’s exactly why I want you to play it. Tell me things like: “This is confusing.” “This is boring.” “Why does this system exist?” “You should change this.” Seriously, don’t hold back. When you’re developing a game by yourself, it’s easy to miss things that are obvious to someone playing from the outside. I can’t offer monetary compensation. But everyone who helps will be credited as a playtester in the staff credits of the full game. I don’t want you to play Dungeon Overdose after it’s finished.
