Android 🤝 Apple Kudos to Google for making file-sharing between the Android world and Apple devices much easier, all without having to install an extra app. On top of that, the transfer speed is extremely fast and the entire process is reliable.

Until there’s an official Grok Build app, you can still use it from your iPhone or Android with Termius (or any other SSH client). Just install Tailscale on your server, connect to the Tailscale IP in Termius, and run Grok Build from the command line as usual 👇

The latest loophole that third-party file manager apps were using to get access to files and folders under /Android/data and /Android/obb has been patched. As part of Android 11's Scoped Storage restrictions, apps that use the Storage Access Framework (SAF) to launch the documents picker are not supposed to be able to get access to files and folders under the /Android/data or /Android/obb directories. However, third-party file managers figured out that if they set the initial directory when launching the documents picker to either /Android/data or /Android/obb, the documents picker lets the user grant the app full access to directories. This loophole was patched in Android 13, but then another loophole was discovered that got around this. Since Android 13 only blocked apps from setting /Android/data or /Android/obb as the initial directory when launching the documents picker, it was quickly discovered that you could set the initial directory to one of the subdirectories under /Android/data or /Android/obb, thus the user could grant access to individual subdirectories one-by-one. However, this latest loophole was patched with a recent Google Play System Update. The latest version of the DocumentsUI app, the Project Mainline module that comprises the documents picker, now restricts the initial location for the ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT/_TREE intent so that apps cannot request the initial location to be one of /Android/data, /Android/sandbox, /Android/obb, or one of their subdirectories. If the DocumentsUI app (AKA 'Files' app) on your device is on version 14-10492947 (version code 340916000), then this loophole is patched.

Working on a “Hand-Off to Mac” way to load the chats from the Codex Remote Control for iOS app to the Codex App Codex app-server doesn’t quite support a live update So I decided to find a workaround A button that forces the closing of the Codex App and reopening it in the chat created from iPhone Would you use this button?

So it turns out, it's more than just the name that Apple borrowed. iPhone Duo is the first folding phone I've seen copy the Surface Duo's unique multitasking and windowing system pretty much 1:1! iPhone Duo can treat each half of the folding display as separate, letting you dock an app to one side and view your home screen on the other, just like Surface Duo. The gestures for multitasking are identical between iPhone Duo and Surface Duo too. You drag an app to the side you want and it fills that half of the screen. You can pick the app up and move it to the other side, and everything will dynamically adjust. It even does the "automatic" multitasking that I've raved about on Surface Duo. If you open a link in an app, it'll move the app over and open the link in your browser. Surface Duo did this, and now iPhone Duo does too. I've been waiting for a folding phone to copy the Surface Duo's unique multitasking and windowing behavior, and we finally have one in the form of iPhone Duo. Well done, Apple. Between the wide form factor like Surface Duo, the pen support like Surface Duo, and now the multitasking like Surface Duo... I think Surface Duo fans may have finally found their Surface Duo 3 in iPhone Duo.

It feels like Apple is deliberately burying the 𝕏 app on the App Store I've been browsing the App Store for the past week, and not even once did I see the 𝕏 app on the home page or in any featured list The 𝕏 app isn't featured anywhere despite having a massive user base and download numbers Even in the Social Networking category where 𝕏 is supposed to rank at the top... you won't find it. I checked most categories and couldn't see the 𝕏 app anywhere, which is something Apple highly controls through its editorial team. The only possible way you can find the 𝕏 app on the App Store is by manually searching for it. This is insane... This feels like nothing but a deliberate attack on 𝕏, trying to suppress the app

This app uses AirDrop to send files from your Android phone to your Macbook! Yes, it actually uses AirDrop. That means you don't have to install ANYTHING on your Mac to send files from your Android phone! Here's a video of a Galaxy Z Flip 5 AirDropping a file to a Macbook running macOS Ventura 13.5.1. (Thanks to u/FragmentedChicken for testing this app for me and sharing the video!) A few months ago, Twitter user @Linus13499209 brought an app called WarpShare to my attention. WarpShare is an app made by the developers of MoKee, an AOSP-based custom ROM that was popular in China. Since MoKee wasn't as popular outside of China, it seems the existence of their WarpShare app slipped under the radar. I was skeptical about whether it would work at all. Grishka, the developer of NearDrop, an open source port of Google's Nearby Share to macOS, told me that they were under the assumption that AirDrop requires the use of AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link, Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol) to communicate both ways. However, it seems that AWDL is only required for your Android phone to be discoverable by your Mac (ie. to send files from your Mac to your Android phone) but not the other way around. Because of this, though, WarpShare only supports sending files from Android to Mac but not vice versa. Your Mac also needs to have AirDrop discoverability set to "everyone" for this to work, as "contacts-only" requires Apple-signed certificates. Plus, it also doesn't support sending files from Android to iPhones or iPads, even when "everyone" mode is enabled. Still, if you find other Android --> Mac file sharing options to be lackluster, give WarpShare a try! The fact that it works at all is incredible, which is why I'm sharing this news here. If you want to download WarpShare on your Android device, you'll need to compile the app from its source code. If you're a Patron/X subscriber, however, I will share my compiled APK with you. We are bootstrapping our app studio to $1M/mo It’s based around screen time apps. We have prayer lock with 13k reviews ranking top #100 on the AppStore Now we are building step lock our 2nd app and the first goal is to scale it. to $10k/mo, In public It combines health kit + screen time api To block your apps until you get your steps in. We used Rork plans feature, and it literally gave us the whole setup for the app, Then it built the app for us and one shorted the api integrations In a 2 days we had the app submitted to the AppStore The app is currently in review. Apple has rejected it 7 times For the dumbest reasons. But it’s looking like this time it will get approved. Will be posting updates on this

This weekend, I tested out a Job App. If you’ve been job hunting remotely, this is a GOLDMINE for you 💗 This is an app called i’llTip with thousands of remote jobs. Tech, VA work, data entry, social media, sales, freelance gigs and new ones are added daily. What caught me is after you apply, you can message the recruiter directly, plus there are a lot of recruiters on this app💃 And wait, there’s more 🤭, you can also post your work & get tipped, another way to build visibility while applying for jobs💗 If you’re tired of applying and hearing nothing, you can check this out. Search “i’llTip” on App Store or Google Play. Android: iPhone:

I updated the website! Take a look at all the categories and art that @DollyJKazoo designed! It was so cool being able to make art for all of the products we have. The collections have grown so much over the years that we just needed to do a makeover so we can fit all of our items on the home page and make it look more pretty~ Also a sneak peek of our mascot Baby Finn the Giraffe making a comeback! Lastly, I realized after I recorded this, so the tabs at the bottom will only be available on the website if you want to have an easier log-in experience. Which the app is available on Apple and Android. Just search “Lil Comforts” on your appstore!

In the past year, we created tons of designs just to explore ideas, improve our craft, and post on X. Website sections, mobile app screens, dashboards, logos all sitting in our Figma files now. Instead of letting them stay unused, we’re releasing them as a free design library for everyone to copy, learn from, and repurpose. Launching soon. Comment if you want early access.

Vellum has launched Ambient Assistants, adding vellum assistant as a floating pill on top of any Mac app, where it sees the screen in real time and can draw on top of it to point at what matters. Context that used to be taken from screenshots, pasted links, and long prompts now comes straight from whatever is open on screen. > Users can hand off a task by voice without leaving the app they use, while Vellum assistant works on it in the background. > In unfamiliar tools, Vellum assistant can circle the exact button, setting, or metric to use, directly on screen. > Users can show a routine on screen and talk it through, so the assistant can run it later after its plan is approved.
