Support for Agent Plugins is live in Cursor (and I made a plugin for searching X!) Agent Plugins combine Skills and MCP servers into a single package Think about them like an Ikea furniture kit: your table comes with instructions, parts, and tools. You use the instructions to understand how things work (which tools on which parts), then use the tools to assemble your furniture Agent Plugins are bundles of tools & resources that allow agents to accomplish a goal: - MCP servers: fixed context and tools - Skills: dynamic instructions, loaded progressively Plugins bundle tools and instructions so your agent is able to use tokens efficiently Many of us already use MCP servers and skills together - Agent Plugins formalize this pattern for more powerful workflows I'm excited to see where the standard takes us!

Google is working on a native menu for Skills on Gemini desktop. These Skills may become available in all chats (fingers crossed). Users will be able to upload, create, and edit their Gemini Skills, as well as use Gemini to create them. Skill folders will also be available there, allowing users to select local folders containing the necessary Skills.

Google's AI strategy is intriguing. They are building AI tools that target real use-cases. I am finding myself using NotebookLM (to read stuff), Gemini (to analyze images and videos), Google Lens (to find stuff without links), NotebookLM (to create video explainers), Gemini (for generating mini apps), Collab (for data science), Deep Research (for gathering info), Antigravity (vibe coding), Nanobanna (for image editing), veo (for video gen), aistudio (mini apps). You also get all this under a wireless subscription with GoogleFi! That's insane! What else am I missing?

Gemini skills in Chrome are insanely powerful?! You can just write instructions and Gemini will be able to take any action over and over. 1. Create by typing "/" in the Gemini panel 2. Write your instructions 3. Type "/[skill-name]" And Gemini will automatically work for you by using the skill. So you can leverage it to - Scrap information - Take action in a specific web app - Anything you can perform in a browser basically Keep in mind that you can even use your emails or your Google account as a context... Which can be VERY useful.

GOOGLE 🔥: A new "App" artifact is being developed on Gemini Notebook! > "Generate an interactive HTML app based on your sources" Users will be able to customize it via a prompt; examples include interactive dashboards, apps, and games! Imagine playing a game based on books you have added as sources?! Besides that, Google continues to work on AI Notes and may also add an option to enable or disable watermarking for generated artifacts.

Google just dropped its most powerful model and GPT-4's biggest competitor, Gemini Ultra. Here's what stands out: 1. You can opt out of training data when signing up 2. There is a digital watermark applied to all images generated by Imagen 2 within Gemini Ultra (but you can't see it) 3. Ultra is much more capable of complex tasks than Gemini Pro, such as coding, logical reasoning, and following longer/more detailed instructions. 4. There's a brand new Google Gemini App on Google Play and the App Store (in the US only for now) 5. Gemini on Android supports some existing Google Assistant features like controlling your Home devices, setting alarms, and more 6. Gemini on Android can pull data from Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps, Workspace, and YouTube and be invoked by saying “Hey Google” 7. Bard is now fully rebranded as Gemini (RIP Bard) 8. It’s finally coming to Canada 🇨🇦 9. Gemini Ultra is priced at $20/mo (same price as ChatGPT) but has a 2-month free trial I'll be testing it out and sharing more thoughts in my newsletter tomorrow morning. If you've tried it, what are your first impressions? Let me know where it performed better/worse than GPT-4.

You’re here for a reason. We both know your place is under these soles and your purpose is to serve. You always seem to have that perfect timing. ATM intuition, you feel that itch and this is the only way to scratch it. You were born to serve Alpha Derek.

Pixel exists so Google can demonstrate its own services under conditions it controls, and in 2026 that service is Gemini. Anyone can run Gemini on a Galaxy or an iPhone. Only on Pixel does Google set the silicon, the integration, and the ship date together. The foldable comparisons for Pixel Fold might be unflattering today because of the excitement around Galaxy Fold 8 and the upcoming iPhone but Google has a full updated portfolio. Plus, Google can afford to be second on foldable geometry. It cannot afford to be second on how Gemini feels day to day.

New course: Gemini CLI: Code & Create with an Open-Source Agent, built with Google Cloud Tech/Gemini CLI and taught by Jack Wotherspoon. Agentic coding assistants like Gemini CLI are transforming how developers work. This short course teaches you to use Google's open-source agent to coordinate local tools and cloud services for coding and non-coding workflows. Gemini CLI works from your terminal, so it works with your local files and development tools. You can also connect it to services through MCP. Then provide high-level instructions, and it autonomously plans and executes complex workflows. Skills you'll gain: - Build website features and automate code reviews with GitHub ActionsCreate data dashboards that combine local files with cloud data sources - Use MCP servers and extensions to orchestrate workflows across GitHub, Canva, and Google Workspace - Generate social media content from multimedia files like conference recordings I particularly appreciate that Gemini CLI is open-source. You can see exactly how it works, read the prompts it uses, and understand its architecture. The community has contributed thousands of pull requests. Since Gemini 3’s release I've found Gemini CLI highly capable - this is a tool worth having in your toolbox! Whether you're prototyping applications, automating workflows, or working with multimedia content, join to learn to delegate complex tasks and build faster:

Gemini 3.8 Flash is hardwired for complex reasoning. ⚙️ To test its skills, we built an interactive 3D visualizer with 3.8 Flash and Three.js in Google AI Studio. Watch the model generate realistic, physically-proportioned teardowns for hardware devices. It automatically decomposes devices into layers that users can explode and inspect with a deconstruction slider.

SO Gemini CLI announced they have a new flicker free experience, and also that they can embed interactive commands. But I can't for the life of me see it working. I've updated to the latest, but it doesn't seem any less flickery. And commands are quite broken. Is this the right version? ❯ gemini -v 0.19.1

Zero-knowledge proofs will be huge, but when will we start using them? We've talked about these breakthroughs for years. Now that the pieces are in place, it’s time for real applications... ID checks, privacy-preserving apps, and more. Now is the time to prove utility and drive these use cases forward.

Google has a Gemini Problem, and Chamath has a plan to fix it 📈 On E225, the besties discussed how Google can cut ChatGPT's lead over Gemini without killing its $200B/year search ads business. David Sacks: "I think the problem that Google has with respect to ChatGPT, is Gemini is not getting the usage, and ChatGPT is just growing like crazy." "If you look at how these models perform according to the benchmarks, Gemini is actually really good, but they have not caught up on the usage side." david friedberg: "Chamath, you're the CEO of Google, you've got a $200B run rate search ad business." "What's the right integration of Gemini such that you don't massively disrupt the search ad business overnight?" "Or do you not care and you're just gonna do it? I think that's the conundrum (Google) is dealing with." Chamath Palihapitiya: " The more difficult question is, what does the integration look like?" "They're already inserting Gemini in all kinds of uncomfortable ways." "So for example, if you use Gmail, or if you use Google Workspace, what happens today is all these random Gemini pop-ups come up all over the place." "That is an implementation that happened at way too junior a level by people that have no product taste." "And if you use the products every day, it would be hard for you to disagree with me." David Sacks: " The Google homepage, would you replace that with an AI chatbot?" Chamath Palihapitiya: " No. Here's what I would do: I would first go to the critical other points that are around, that today do not cannibalize the blue links." "If you look at the traffic patterns, almost as a Sankey diagram, the real thing you should be looking at here is where are the entry points into Google that then result in a clickable link." "And what it would show you is that there are certain places that are highly de-optimized today for revenue generating events." "They happen as a byproduct, but they don't happen as the use case." "So in that example, you would put Gmail as a critical place, the Google one subscription, and there's like five or six other places." "That's where I would put Gemini as the front door and start to habituate 300 to 500 million people a week in using that." "I think then you can figure out over time how much money you can make from all of that, or how it directs derivative revenue, and figure out what to do with Google dot com last." "But my point is, the experience in Gmail should be done today." "The experience in YouTube should be done today." "The experience in Google one should be done today."

Let’s talk about Gemini 3 Pro. There’s really no other way to say it. The benchmarks are incredible. The jump was dramatic – much more than most people expected. Anew agentic development platform named Antigravity was also launched today. Essentially, it’s a full VS Code fork, which will disappoint some – but with Gemini 3 Pro built directly into it. Now, it will take a few days for the developer community to determine whether it outperforms Cursor and some of the other IDEs. But the advantages that Antigravity has, is that it’s coupled with Gemini 3 Pro (SOTA) Gemini 2.5 Computer Use and Nano Banana for rich media generation. Excited to dive deeper into the Gemini 3 Pro launch. A LOT to unpack today.

Today at Google Cloud’s Gemini at Work event, we announced Gemini, a new single universal agent for work that has all of your business context and can be used for everything from knowledge work to answering questions, and content creation to coding, all from a single prompt box. It’s built around core architectural principles: ☑️ Unified Agent: Gemini can answer questions, do knowledge work and generate code from a single prompt box. ☑️Access: Gemini is web-based and can be accessed from any device and integrated into third-party applications. It can also operate without a dedicated user interface. ☑️Persistent Execution: It runs in the cloud, which means it maintains a single set of memories, context and one personalization graph no matter where you access it. ☑️Multi-Agent Orchestration: Gemini can create sub-agents to tackle multi-step tasks and can also act as a coworker agent with a defined role and its own dedicated identity ☑️Context: Gemini knows your tools, data, and work history and learns how you work the more you use it. ☑️Model Choice Flexibility: It orchestrates across multiple models to deliver optimal quality and lower your costs.
