GPT 5.2 Extended Thinking: write a python code that visualizes how a traffic light works in a one way street with cars entering at random rate. Results: No color at all, functionality is there and works. No design either.

Should we rebuild T3 Code in Swift? I have a Codex reset that expires tomorrow so I threw gpt-5.6-sol ultra at it. It did surprisingly well. Only took about 20% of my weekly limit!

wow... GPT 5.6 Sol Passed the Replit Benchmark. In one prompt 5.6 on Codex created a full Replit clone with DB, Sandboxes, and an agent that builds and edits full web apps. Only Fable and GPT 5.6 have passed this benchmark. 5.6 is much better at designing iOS apps than 5.5 as well.

I tap out, I'm switching my daily driver to Low in GPT-6 Astra. - Similar performance as GPT 5.6 Sol max - Lower cost than GPT 5.6 Sol max - Iterate faster than GPT 5.6 Sol max - low thinking produces result faster (don't need 2x speed anymore) Very underrated imo. You get to iterate faster, for cheaper, at similar performance of SOTA from a week ago. 00:00 Intelligence vs Cost graph 02:24 Astra Light vs GPT-5.6 Sol max 03:34 Faster iteration 05:07 Speed

Made a game character selection screen with GPT-5.6 Sol Started with a few character images generated with GPT Image 2 Then asked GPT-5.6 to design a polished game character screen around them Here's what it came up with

GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra lost to GPT-5.5 on physics at 3× the cost! We gave 4 models the same prompt: build three self-contained HTML5 canvas scenes with real physics demos Prompts: - A monster truck backflipping onto a parked car - A stunt car jumping six buses into a brick wall - A train derailing off a broken bridge into the water Outputs: GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra: 32.9K tokens, $0.33 Opus 4.8: 9.2K tokens, $0.24 GPT-5.5: 12.4K tokens, $0.11 Grok 4.5: 7.0K tokens, $0.08 Sol Ultra draws just like GPT-5.5, only with more detail and it shows clearest on the bus jump where the two look almost identical. In the other tests Sol Ultra came out worse than its predecessor and the physics really got weaker. We think GPT-5.5 took the truck flip and the train outright. With Sol Ultra you basically get GPT-5.5 with weaker physics and a nicer picture for 3x the price. Newborn Grok 4.5 failed two of the three tests and only came good on the train

GPT-5.6 Sol just one-shotted a full Minecraft clone in 90 minutes. Not iterated on for weeks — one shot, 90 minutes, done. We went from "AI can write a snake game" to "AI can rebuild a billion-dollar sandbox genre".

Two frontier models. Two very different demos. (GPT-5.6 Sol and Claude Fable 5) GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra was pushed in a mathematical direction and generated a Minecraft-style clone in Lean. Yes, that Lean. Meanwhile, Claude Fable 5 took a game development route and built a Minecraft mod featuring a Dark Souls-inspired enemy with multiple attack patterns, combos, and combat logic. They're solving completely different problems, but both are great examples of how capable today's models have become. The pace of progress is remarkable.

Been giving my M3 Ultra Studio some love and tinkering with MLX. Started the afternoon at 42 tok/s. Now: 73 tok/s, and there’s still more on the table. Running Qwen3.8-Flash-Next @ 4-bit locally. Now for the crazy bit: Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.3: GPT-5.6 Sol 39 (Medium) GPT-5.6 Sol 42 (High) Qwen3.8-Flash-Next 42 GPT-5.6 Sol 44 (XHigh) GPT-5.6 Sol 47 (Max) Grok 4.5 39 (High) Claude Sonnet 5 38 (Max) *Qwen score currently estimated by Artificial Analysis. A 4-bit open-weights model running at 73 tok/s on a Mac under my desk... with an estimated intelligence score matching GPT-5.6 Sol at High reasoning. Local AI is getting ridiculous. 🔥 Plus, this model does not say no to a bit of red teaming. Once I am happy with it, I will do a pr for Jun Kim's oMLX :)

GPT-5.6 Sol vs Fable 5 both models were tested on the same reasoning with the same prompt > 5.6 Sol one shotted everything in 70 minutes in devin > Fable 5 one-shotted everything in 90 minutes in claude code really surprised by Sol results here which one do you think won?

We are officially in the era where one prompt can ship a complete playable game in <50 bucks! Asked Claude Fable 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol to clone Terraria, max effort level Both are playable and offer a smooth experience GPT 5.6 Sol did it at roughly 1/4 the cost and in 2/3 the runtime: - GPT 5.6 Sol: ~$35, ~1h 20m - Claude Fable 5: ~$120, ~2h Tho Fable still produced the strongest results 🥲

Did GPT-5.6 Sol beat Fable 5 for frontend work? GPT-5.5 got roasted for its frontend. Had to test the new one. Same challenge: one prompt + one reference image → Three.js 3D globe dashboard. Verdict: Fable 5 still edges it out. But at half the cost, GPT-5.6 Sol is a serious option now.

📣 OpenAI Developers's GPT-5.6 family is now generally available and rolling out in GitHub Copilot. GPT-5.6 comes in three variants: ☀️ GPT-5.6 Sol: the highest reasoning ceiling in the family. Best for complex reasoning over large codebases and demanding, long-running agentic work. 🌎 GPT-5.6 Terra: the balanced default. A strong all-round choice for everyday interactive and agentic coding. 🌕 GPT-5.6 Luna: a lightweight, cost-efficient variant for smaller, faster tasks and the lowest-cost option in the family. Try one, two, or them all in Visual Studio Code or the GitHub Copilot app.
