Reports indicate that Washington has been supplying Israel with a significant arsenal, including more than 10,000 'bunker-buster' bombs that weigh 2,000 pounds and thousands of Hellfire missiles as of June 2024. Blumenthal pointed out to Blinken that 300 journalists have been on the 'receiving end of [his] bombs.' He also confronted Blinken about his relatives’ roles as Israeli lobbyists, implying Blinken is compromised. The Grayzone editor encapsulated his criticism of US policy, suggesting that Washington has yielded to the demands of Tel Aviv, thereby implicating itself in the ongoing onslaught that had k*lled as many as 186,000 Palestinians as of early July, per the Lancet medical journal. Blumenthal’s ejection came after security hauled away independent journalist Sam Husseini (Sam Husseini on X), the communications director at the US-based Institute for Public Accuracy (accuracy.org on X), who challenged Blinken.
