Great perspective from Notre Dame Football Coach Marcus Freeman (Marcus Freeman) on why he feels he must remind his players to choose hard: "Struggle with what you have." Everyone starts from a different place. Some people are born on third base. Others have never even seen a triple. But... growth isn't determined by where you begin, it's determined by the challenges you're willing to embrace. When you step onto the field, the court, or into any defining moment, nobody cares where you started. What matters is how you've prepared, how you've responded to adversity, and how you've conditioned yourself for the grinding opportunity in front of you. It's a daily choice. The hard way is the right way. Choose hard! Especially when life makes easy available.show more

Some say that Notre Dame's best times are upon us. When you realize what Marcus Freeman is building that translates. This was the day he declared the Golden Standard for Notre Dame Football. And I'd never seen Marcus cry until he turned to his kids and said: "You didn't ask to share your dad, but you have to."

Tom Brady shares what he tells every college athlete he meets and it's not what they expect. "I hope this experience is hard for you. I hope it's not easy." "I hope today in this game you're losing in the 4th quarter and you look at each other in the eye and try to figure out solutions to how you're gonna win the game." "That's how you're gonna find out what you're made of." You find out who you are when you are challenged. Expect adversity. Expect tough moments. "Life is hard. The challenges of life are hard." "This program is hard. It's built on toughness. It's built on resilience. And that's what I wanna see from this team." You can't wish for easy or hope for easy. Adversity is a gift if you let it be. Dan Lanning shares why the best teams never stop growing. "You can't just grow in one area. It doesn't matter if you're a senior or a freshman or a coach that's been coaching 20 years - there's more to learn." "The game of football keeps changing. There's always people that are innovative. There's new adaptations. And it's the same thing in the game of life." Growth never stops. You have to make it a daily habit. The moment you think you've arrived - you've already fallen behind. "We wanna be a team that's seeking out information. Looking for opportunities to grow." "It's not growth in one field. It's growth in every field." The best teams are always learning. Always adapting. Always looking for an edge. You don't get to choose when the game changes. You only get to choose if you're ready when it does. (🎥George Wrighster Podcast )

Head Notre Dame Football Coach Marcus Freeman (Marcus Freeman) with one of the best life lessons you'll hear on why your career almost never unfolds the way you expect: ⬇️ 🔭 Vision gives you direction, not certainty. Every leader imagines how the journey will unfold, but reality is always more complex than the blueprint. A vision should tell you where you're going, not have you convinced the path will be straight. Be prepared to adapt and pivot. The best leaders can be malleable without abandoning the goal of the destination. 👣 Great journeys are built one faithful step at a time. It's easy to become consumed by how far you still have to go, but growth only happens in the step you're standing in. Be fully present! Execute the next decision as well as you can. If you stack enough excellent single steps together, you'll often arrive somewhere greater than the destination you originally imagined. "The person who loves to walk goes further than the one who only loves the destination." 🤝 Who you're around shapes who you become more than what you're responsible for. Titles create authority, but people create transformation. The right room will challenge your thinking, sharpen your standards, and accelerate your growth in ways no promotion ever could. Choose environments that make you better, not positions that simply make you look important. Your future won't be determined by the clarity of your vision, the size of your title, or the speed of your progress, but by your willingness to faithfully take the next step beside people who make you better. 🔮

Cori Close (Cori Close) shares a must-listen message on what it takes to be special. "Do you want special? Then you better get used to hard." "Tell me one person in this life, in any area of life, that did something special that didn't embrace hard. That didn't embrace the adversity." Success is earned in the struggle. "It's the people who embrace hard. Perseverance. All of those things that need to happen." Then she got honest about her own leadership: "Get ready to push that. Get ready to take that on for your players first so that they can see the role modeling of someone who faces hard, who embraces hard." Leaders go first. You can't ask your team to embrace hard if you're not willing to do it yourself. You have to be willing to embrace adversity. Adversity isn't a roadblock - it's the path. (🎥 USA Basketball)

There’s a very visible reason why Marcus Freeman is one of the most hunted head coaches in America. And you don’t have to look far to see it. It’s in the way he speaks. It’s in the way he leads. It’s in the way he demands focus when the moment arrives. “This is the only opportunity that matters. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS but what we got right in front of us.” “Don’t blink.” 🎥 Here Come The Irish episode 2

Success is often seen as the finish line. But sometimes, it's the moment you're reminded of the dream you started with. The promise you made to yourself. The ambition you set aside. Because the real measure of success isn't what you've achieved. It's whether you're still willing to choose the harder path in pursuit of what truly matters. At Kotak, we stand behind those choices. The bold ones. The difficult ones. The ones driven by hausla. If you have a crazy dream, we’re here to support it. Watch the film unfold. #HauslaHaiTohHoJayega #KotakMahindraBank #TakeOnYourCrazyDream #OneKotak #HomeLoans

FULL CLIP: Asmongold says fundamentally, you shouldn’t listen to pro players when deciding whether a game is good or bad because the way they play and experience the game is totally different from you, after reacting to Flats stepping from Marvel Rivals because of how bad the game’s stats are 👀 “This is no hate to Flats, but you've gotta understand that you play the game so much, you're so far into it all the time, and you're thinking about it constantly, that is really, it's hard for a casual player to relate to what a pro player's concerns are”

I can't stop thinking about this... Michael Caine on his defining philosophy on life: Use the Difficulty As a young actor, he was rehearsing a play scene when a chair got stuck in the door and blocked his path. He told the other actor he couldn't get by the chair to enter the room in the scene. The actor's response: "Use the difficulty...if it's a comedy, fall over it, if it's a drama, pick it up and smash it." This story offers a powerful reframe: Every single difficulty you face is an opportunity in disguise. The difficulty is a guarantee. The struggle. The obstacle. The frustration. The failure. The hurt. The setback. They will come. You don’t get to choose whether they appear, or when, but you do get to choose how you handle them. How can you use the difficulty you're currently facing? - Can you embrace this struggle? - Can you grow through it? - Can you find flow through friction? If you were reading a biography of your life, what would make this difficulty into an inflection point? The moment when everything turned for the better. The unmistakable point where everything changed. How would you have responded to this moment? The difficulty is a guarantee. You can't control it. But you can control how you react to it. You can control your response to it. You can control your attitude towards it. You can use the difficulty.

I asked Marcus Freeman what winning 70-7 can do for a team in the moment and moving forward. His answer lets you in on how Notre Dame is able to win by so much in the first place. “If it’s 70-7 or 10-7, if you don’t enjoy that, it’s a miserable life.” Take nothing for granted.

Vanderbilt Head Football Coach Clark Lea (Clark Lea) epitomizes the meaning of ownership. I love this clip because it's a masterclass in refusing to play the victim, escaping the echo chamber that imprisons so many people, and understanding that the internal agreement you make to chase excellence comes with immense pain and a hard truth: Nobody is coming to save you. 🔥 We are not victims in this process. The joy we experience is often equal and opposite to the pain we endure. Growth isn't found by avoiding adversity, it's found by carrying it with pride. The struggle you're facing today may be the very thing preparing you for the opportunities you're praying for tomorrow. 🧭 You don't control every circumstance, but you do control your response. This is the ground you stand on. This is where you're supposed to be. There are no mistakes. Every challenge, setback, and obstacle has the potential to drive you forward if you're willing to accept it as part of your journey rather than evidence that you've been treated unfairly. 🪞 Ownership requires honesty. Be proud of where you are, but be honest about where you've fallen short. The objective is never to wait for someone else to rescue you. The objective is always to perform better. To improve. To adapt. To grow. Excellence begins the moment you stop asking who will save you and start asking how you can become better. The moment you stop seeing your circumstances as something happening to you and start seeing them as something shaping you, adversity transforms from a burden into a blueprint. Vanderbilt Football is leaning into this idea for the 2026 season. #AnchorDown

Marcus Freeman shares what servant leadership really looks like. "My current and former players, you are my why. You are my motivation. You are the reason I get up every day and work as hard as I can." "To see you all reach your goals, to see you all set a goal and live out a dream - is what gives me my inspiration every day to do what I do." That's servant leadership. It's not about titles or trophies - it's about helping others become the best version of themselves. Great leaders believe they serve the team. They know that when your "why" is bigger than yourself, the work never feels like work. (🎥 Notre Dame)

Love this perspective from Marcus Freeman (Marcus Freeman) on turning negative experiences into fuel ⛽️ for Notre Dame Football: Failure can either become your excuse or your foundation. The lessons are there if you’re willing to OWN them! But the moment you spend your energy blaming others, you waste the very adversity that was meant to grow you. 🪴 📧 Great leaders don’t let people outsource responsibility. Every day, they remind the team: your response to adversity matters more than the adversity itself. 🧑‍🏫 Pain is a teacher. Blame is a distraction. One helps you grow from failure, the other helps you avoid it. 🤨 Teams get stronger the moment they stop asking, “Who caused this?” and start asking, “What can we learn from this?” You can't win back your past losses. You can only learn from them, so that you win and grow going forward, and build a future so strong that it casts a shadow over the failures behind you. Success is the only real retribution. Not because it erases the past, but because it proves the past didn’t stop you.

Words of wisdom from Park Chanyeol 🤍 🍒 : "It's always hard going up and easy coming down. That's just how life is. You climb hard, and then the descent comes easy, and then you climb again. Even if you face an unexpected downhill path, you have to keep going up. However, you don't have to be obsessed with going up. Life is about going with the flow-- sometimes you go down, sometimes you go up. And somewhere along the way, happiness comes when you are content with where you are"
