Why is it important that Panjab University should remain with Punjab and no centeralisation. This farmer has one acre of land. Wanted higher education for his children. His son cleared JEE mains with flying colours got a seat in Delhi. Fees being beyond their reach they opted for Panjab University’s UIT today he’s placed in a top IT company and getting a good salary. We want education to be affordable and accessible to our children from Panjab. We must understand that centralisation also means that education out of reach. Colleges in Chandigarh itself has reservation for Chandigarh students. Panjab University is a place where quality and affordable education and first prefrefrence should be of Punjab's students. This University was transferred from Lahore to Chandigarh. Panjab University is for Punjab and so shall it be.

At first, ICE didn’t want to talk. This may be the only video of a real conversation with an ICE agent. After following them from an elementary school where they’d been circling to a parking lot, I was able to get a few words in. This is part of that conversation. As you’ll see, in a genuine conversation, even this ICE agent understands that they must be accountable. And when I’m elected to congress, we will hold ICE accountable- every agent who abused their authority, pepper sprayed kids, or illegally broke into someone’s home. But until November, we have to use our voice in whatever ways we can. Protest. Make noise. Talk to your friends and neighbors. Support your community. And if you get the chance at a safe distance- even talk to an ICE agent– and make it clear that if they want things to change, they must be part of that change. This is how we get ICE out of Minnesota.

We recently had the privilege of hosting Pico Iyer at Mahindra University & what a gift that was for our students. Pico is one of the most distinctive global essayists of our time. From ‘Video Night in Kathmandu’ to ‘The Art of Stillness,’ & through decades of writing for Time ( I used to wait eagerly for each issue that contained his essay) & other international publications, he’s explored travel, identity, solitude and what it means to live thoughtfully in an increasingly restless world. What made the day even more meaningful was that this was his first visit to an Indian university. And then to hear him speak so warmly about the students, their attentiveness, their questions, their openness meant a great deal to all of us. Universities are not defined by their buildings. They’re defined by the quality of conversation that happens within them. When a thinker like Pico connects so naturally with our young minds, it reassures us that we are building something that goes beyond just classrooms. Because at Mahindra University, we aim not only to build competence, but character. Not only careers, but curiosity. My thanks to Pico for reminding us that in a noisy, troubled world, stillness & serious reflection may be the ultimate form of progress. Mahindra University

One of the happiest moments of this year. ❤️ Today, 10 students supported by our Devi Social & Educational Foundation have graduated at the 35th Convocation of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology and to make this day even more special, one among our students, Deepika has won the Gold Medal in Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). Seeing these young minds achieve their dreams is a feeling I can't put into words. Deepika, congratulations on this incredible achievement. You have made all of us immensely proud and given hope to many more students across Tamil Nadu that they can persue their future education irrespective of their livelihood or financial constraints. This teacher says if you ever wonder why people are leaving the teaching profession in droves, this is one of the main reasons. She has students that she has written an incident report on every single day. She has contacted the principal and the support staff and the help that was given to her was to email the parents of the students. Basically, no help or support at all. We have many epidemics in our country but this is one of the biggest that doesn’t get enough attention. We all know our school system is a failure but even more than we know. Students these days have zero consequences. They are passed with straight F’s. They are allowed to be a continuing distraction and disruption in the classrooms and nothing is done about it. We need to start over. 💯 Why do we allow this this as a school? As a district? As a city? As a state? As a country? It didn’t use to be like this? This is why other countries surpass us in education, there is no discipline in our schools. Would you want to be a teacher in this day and age at a public school?

This is a final year student project at Eindhoven University of Technology I saw today. This is a 100% solar powered car that works! From my further inquiry, I learnt that final year students projects are done in groups of 5. So it’s highly collaborative. In coming months, when you will start seeing this type of cars everywhere, just know that it was invented by students in a university. Universities are the heart of every society. Their innovations move the society forward. Everyone comes with intentions to contribute positively. Nigerian students are busy chasing GPA because that’s what our society exposes them do. Visionless education. We need to give Nigerian students the right environment and support to become the best of who they truly are.
