I’m gonna attach a synopsis to this post. On July 24, 2025, a Hennepin County judge sentenced Derrick John Thompson to 704 months (about 58.7 years) on the state charges. This covered five consecutive third-degree murder sentences (one for each of the five young women killed) along with the related criminal vehicular homicide counts.

Kills 5 young women and he gets 64 years. Out in roughly 2/3 of his sentence if he doesn’t get into any trouble in prison. He should never be let out.
