Time for me to learn how to rig up twist bones! This is great work

Hands can't rotate without the forearm rotating. On their own they can only rotate up and down. Nobody does this with game models or in motion capture. If there's an issue, blur the weight paint or use shape keys.

Its just about making it look good, you don't have to match everything to realism. And try blurring the weight paint you maybe able to get a clean twist but then how about wrist rotation like up and down, left and right lol

Try rotate your own hand from palm up to palm down. The entire forearm rotates. Then rotate your upper arm bone, about 90 degrees max. In order to do 180 degrees you got to rotate your shoulder. It's a chain. You need no helper bones, maybe a bone or shape key to pop the elbow.

Good, seems like you are already a master of 3d rigging so no need to check my posts

Time to finally learn about rotation constraints

Tutorials ???

If you want maybe 👀

sure suree waitinggg

HOW

Just use a separate bone for twist and use rotation constraint

I'm wondering if I can add twist bones to my vrm model, any useful tutorials out there, anyone?

You cannot add twist bones in vrm model. Atleast not in vrm 0.x, if you are using vrm 1.x there are options to do so. But i haven't used vrm 1.x so don't know much about it

Damn because I have to use VRM zero to edit my spring bones. I have ARP for blender so for animation I can just use that but I was curious. Thanks for responding! 💜💜

so that's what they are for lol perfectly enough information for me about the twist bones :D

Try to do that to your foot then get back to me. Some needs to look up what hinge joints are and radial joints are. Are why there is a need and a difference between the wrist and the ankle. You don’t need ankle/ shin twist bones.

It's about Perfection & exaggeration. You don't have to twist the feet all the way, i have shown it to demonstrate that it works. In animations people stretch and squeeze hands, feet, torso etc. for a good animation. Does that happen irl? Just chill, it's not realism.

Bro be posting the most basic shit like it's the second coming of Christ

first time i've ever heard of ankle twist bones. aren't they usually unnoticeable? most of the times the rotation comes from the knee bone itself. i learn something new everyday

I do need to know how to weight paint the twitst bonesModel swapping Crossworlds models always gets me confused T_T

You can't rotate your foot without rotating your knee. This rotation should be at the level of the thigh, not the shin.

If it looks good, it doesn't need fixes. Besides i have twist bones for everything even thighs, arms, spines etc. but only use them in unity if required.

The hand makes sense. It twists from the elbow. For feet, legs twist from the hip
