In the past few days, we have received signals from the American side that talks may resume soon. But with what mindset will the Russian side come to the talks this time? It depends on all of us together to make sure the Russians do not come to these talks feeling that their position has grown much stronger. And it is not only because of the situation around Iran, which is pushing global oil prices higher. First, Russians see active use of air defense missiles in the Middle East and the Gulf region, and they may think Ukraine will face a shortage of such missiles. Second, the EU’s 20th sanctions package against Russia is stalled. It could have continued the pressure on Russia to move toward real peace. Third, the United States has eased some sanctions on Russia, and this brings significant money into Putin’s war budget. Next, for the third month now, the most important financial security guarantee for Ukraine from Europe is not working – the 90-billion-euro support package for this year and the next. This is critical for us. It is a resource to protect lives. And the fifth point, even today, we do not know for sure whether this support will be unblocked. From an address to the European Council meeting (1/3).

This guy is driving by and stops to look at the robot lawnmower mowing this huge property. He is blown away and thinks this is really cool. Says he has never seen anything like it. Back and forth, slowly it goes. A man can mow faster, but, what is your time and wear and tear on your body worth? Some say they will never give up their mowing time, their two hours of quiet time. But, others have said that this type of mower can help with rental properties. They drop it off, it mows while they are gone, it has a camera, and an app for it. It saves them gas and the trip out to the property every two weeks. One person said it was the best investment he ever made. He didn’t have to mow one time last year and it mows the straightest lines and charges itself. You will still have to edge and maybe get some tight spots around trees and stuff and they can be pricey. So, would you ever invest in one of these? Would the extra time on your hands allow you to do something else, go work out? Tackle other projects? Would you want that kind of help? Or, is this part of the downfall of man and just something else to make us more lazy?

Russia most likely fired a RS-26 „Rubezh“ ICBM against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro at 5am local time. The launch site was presumably Astrakhan. The warheads were non-nuclear. The accuracy of this missile is 90m-250m CEP and for conventional strikes absolutely inaccurate, though judging from this video it seems more to be like a CEP of 500-1000m. Even hitting an object such as football stadium is a gamble. But accuracy is not the point. Terror is the point. Just like a terrorist with its suicide vest, Russia wants to deliver random violence. It is irrelevant that those missiles hit hospitals, schools and kindergartens. In the contrary, hitting those civilian facilities just strengthen the terror character and drive people from their homes, if they survive the attack. Refugee streams are just another weapon against the West, and an effective one. I warned for decades that you cannot reason with the Kremlin. Russia proves once again that it is the largest terrorist entity in the world. Appeasement enabled Russia to become what it is and it is time to correct that mistakes. You don’t negotiate with terrorists, you respond with deadly force, in order to make sure that this will not come to your home. It is only the latest episode which show that no treaty or even ceasefire is going to change that fact. And last but not least, for Olaf Scholz and the SPD: this one is on you.

I heard VRC was buggy, but this is RIDICULOUS Finally finished my low poly VRC avatar based on Adfree.EXE 👾⚠️【SVA】's design . Been working on this over the last few months off and on to study low poly modeling, and I can finally call it complete Everything is made from the ground up. Modeling, texture work (though referenced from Adfrees ref sheet) weight painting, and naturally I gave it some face tracking. I also finally had an excuse to use Poiyomi Pro's vertex glitch and vertex rounding features :D This was a super fun project and it feels great to see it finally completed C: Maybe next time I'll go for making an avatar with a higher poly count and more detail (Before anyone asks, I don't plan to make this clonable or share it since I don't own the design lol)

The rise of AI technology and deepfakes pose a large risk to the financial services industry. The tipping point for Indian financial services businesses was when onboarding became completely digital, thanks to Aadhaar, etc. For businesses onboarding a new customer, an important aspect is ensuring that the documents and the person opening the account are real. The normal process that's followed today is to fetch the ID or address proof data from the source using Digilocker and or Aadhaar. Also, match the face from this ID proof with the person opening the account through a webcam. Today, we have a bunch of checks in place to check for liveliness and if the other person is real or not. But as the deepfakes improve, I think it will only become harder over time to validate if the person on the other side is real or AI-generated. This problem will be bigger for banks that have more stringent regulatory requirements during onboarding. It will be interesting to see how the regulations around this evolve. Going back to the physical way of opening accounts will bring the growth of the entire sector to an abrupt stop. And the video isn’t me; it is a deep fake. 😬

*** Parodius Demo Update *** After seeing my good friend Pyron amazing Parodius artwork , I could not let that go to waste. Its a crying shame Konami's shooters did not make it to MD at the time , time to rectify that (in time). The video shows some of the progress so far. Stage 1 scrolling using the streaming scroller from lufthoheit to automatically manage the tile management for the scrolling rather than using different sets etc. Its great when I can grab bits of code and apply them to new projects, it speeds things up !! Lufthoheits new stage is coming along well also and has its first enemies in , hopefully show something of that soon. The VRAM view is to the right , we will have plenty of vram left for objects without resorting to much manual management it seems. ~ 1/2 vram left. It looks like the biggest challenge for this level is the Cat Ship mid boss - the end boss seems easier in comparison for a few reasons. I've analysed the way it was done on PCE and SNES and will come up with the best option for MD. More to come on that soon. At present we will target mainly assembly , so performance won't be an issue . I'm not sure we need a sprite multiplexor for > 80 sprites , but we will use one anyway just to not have regrets/changes later on and for the Hint color effects the multiplexor can do also. We have an A level musician volunteering also for those concerned about the audio side of things - it wont dissapoint I'm sure. As this is now my 3rd / 4th project it will be done as time permits so no gaurantees on timelines sorry - we are all hoping to do well by the community however. #SGDK #Konami #Parodius #MegaDrive #SegaGenesis

As I return back from my summer break, this clip from the great Mr. Rogers resonated in so many ways with me. I’m grateful for the time I had away — away from the noise, from the busyness, from the fast pace of everything happing in this world, from the need to know everything that is going on in the instant it occurs. I’m grateful, just like Mr. Rogers mentions, for the silence I was afforded in my time away. I wish we all could give that gift to each other more often, or even give that to ourselves. I’m also grateful for the time I had to reflect, and the time I had to wonder. I know as the world goes by, as the days get busier once again, I may not have as much time to sit in reflection, to wonder about the possibilities, but I will do my best to make time. I urge you all to find the time as well. To slow down, to not let the noise take over. Let’s keep rising above the noise, day by day! #abovethenoise

Flying back from Charlotte, I thought a lot about this weekend.. beeple was our Willy Wonka and created an amazing art factory event…. But it was more than an event. It was a small peak into our future.. My takeaway is this … We are not the same as traditional art yet we are very much connected … This event was a story in two parts… The first part was embracing the classic. A nod and ode to the museum/gallery exhibit… Part two was a chaotic immersive experience that was truly beautiful…. I think for me, what I get now, is we don’t need to run away. We need to embrace it all…. Art is art. The more we push our boundaries of a new creative technological renaissance we will bring in others who will see our vision… It will take a while. It won’t be easy. Last night was the first time I felt this. The first time I felt that we have a chance to be different but stay enough the same… I can see it now, 25 years from now at an underground extremely popular rave. The newest hottest artists enters wearing a hoodie that you can barely see their face except for the lollipop stick. They will emerge in the middle of the room rising from the floor. They will start to play a new score they composed that will include art they created with new advanced AI. They will create the art live in front of everyone. Suddenly, from the ceiling virtual little notes will fall and the people will have AR implants seeing these beautiful Vistula notes fall all around them. They will grab them with their hands and they will than use these digital notes to be able to buy the art and songs the artists is playing live. They will share the virtual notes with each other and save some for later. The artists will finish his work and disappear into the floor he came from. The crowd will go home and see if they were lucky enough to grab a golden note that gives them a special 1/1 song and art from the artist. The winner will than post it on socials, getting instant fame where that they can than tokenize the fame for themselves… the digital art renaissance is in full swing! That is the start of what we saw last night…. See, no one can see the future but we can live in it and not even realize we’re in the middle of it … Think about the changes you can make for this future and what footprint you can leave behind…. Think about how much time we really have to make any difference at all… This is how we build!

The situation in Israel can be perfectly summarized by comparing it to the situation in Pearl Harbor. The question is do you kill innocent civilians to save more innocent civilians? Some say no, some say yes. This is covered in almost every ethics course with the train analogy. Do you pull the lever or not? 🤔 Innocent people die in war, but counter terrorism can never be falsely equated to an act of war, for far more people will die from inaction as opposed to action. People love to make war some black and white talking point, but it’s far more complex than that. War is hell, it’s evil, and it’s inevitable. It’s in our nature unfortunately, and until we fix that which may never happen, we need to deal with that reality as best we can. “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” Israel did next to nothing five times throughout modern history. This time, they pulled the lever and people might want to remember there were 5 innocent people on that other track. It’s time more people got on the right side of history.

If you're a baseball junkie, take the time & listen to Dino Ebel in this clip. There's a lot to unpack here, and it's all awesome stuff. First, Dino talks about time being on their side. The goal for a pitcher is to deliver the ball to home plate in 1.3 seconds. For a catcher, a 2.0 pop time is the standard, so any runner that can steal from base to base in under 3.3 seconds has time on their side. Then Dino talks about not yelling back to his runner at 2nd to make sure they're not diving back into the bag as a pitcher is delivering the ball to home plate. If that happens, a runner wouldn't be able to score from 2nd on a base hit. Finally, Dino talks about being aggressive sending runners home with 2 outs. The reason for that is that the odds are better that the defense will make a mistake somewhere along the relay chain than there is of the next hitter getting a base hit. Fans lose their minds when runners get thrown out at the plate, but, many times, don't realize, that with 2 outs it's pretty much pre-determined because it gives the offense the best odds to score a run. If the defense executes, so be it, but the next hitter has a 75% chance of getting out, and that's what makes it the correct call. Here is the first look of the Financial Model for Pakistan Stock Exchange we have built. At this moment, I don't know if it will be successful or not. Yet it's backtesting has given promising results. I believe it is real time and future testing that matters the most. To make it transparent, I will keep on updating on "X" the top picks from the Model. I request you not to invest a single money based on it's results because it is in the early stage. Every feedback from your side would be highly encouraged. The problem was that investors only see MARI, FFC, ,OGDC PPL, MEBL, Luck like companies because they are mainstream. But remember that there are 457 listed companies and there are some hidden gems that are usually missed by retail investors like us. One such example was SSOM that just exploded in few weeks. Thats why, the purpose of the model was to find those companies that have a lot of potential but are not covered by any brokerage house and yet there results are excellent. Based on this model, some time back, I added positions in companies like AGIL (Agri Autos) SPEL (Synthetic Papers ltd), NATF (National Foods), KSB Pumps, Treet. Because scores of all these companies is excellent. They remained stagnant for long time so my conviction on the model was also declining. But it were last two weeks that made a difference and so was my own conviction on this model. Big names like Wealth ⚡️ Wise Value Investor Doctor in PSX Tayyab 🇵🇰 are already aware of it. On Thursday I added HCAR. I will keep you updated just for testing purpose I again repeat not to invest. I will risk my own money. If it is successful, we intend to make a website where you all have access to this data. How it works and how to read it, I will explain it to you in a separate thread.

My goal in this budget process has always been to make sure we’re funding core, basic services in a balanced and disciplined manner. We know there is an inherent tension between asking people to pay rates, fees and taxes— and the issue of affordability. We want to make sure our city can provide the quality-of-life services that our residents deserve, but we also want to make sure we’re putting affordability first in our community. While I worry a lot about affordability, I also worry about the ability of our city to deliver quality services without more revenue. I strongly believe that if we're not making the kinds of investments we need to make in our people and our services, we will be managing decay in Austin in a very short period of time. This budget will not meet everyone’s concept of perfection. Truthfully, there are parts of the budget that I don’t like. That goes with living in a big, diverse city—different people will have different priorities, and we need to make room for all of us. Now, it is time for us to trust our voters. Voters have an opportunity in November to make a very important decision. From my perspective, the best part of this budget is that we fully fund our homeless strategy office. That was my greatest emphasis, and we've achieved it. It will make a world of difference in getting homeless people off the street in a very short period of time. I'm also very pleased with what we’ve added to funding for public safety, EMS, and wildfire prevention. A positive vote in the November tax rate election will allow us to pay for these needed services. And we make a significant investment in our parks. I look forward to a result that will be the best benefit of our community.
