Tragically, his family members and peers reportedly did not take these warnings seriously, assuming he was not serious. Reports indicate that prior to the incident, Abass, a Business student who was serving as Boys’ Prefect, had allegedly been caught in an inappropriate situation with a female student by a teacher. The matter was reported to the school authorities, who subsequently summoned Abass’s mother for a disciplinary meeting to discuss the issue and determine appropriate consequences. According to persons close to the family, including his mother and uncle, as well as some students, Abass became deeply distressed after learning that his mother had been called to the school and even informed her of his intention to hàrm himself. Those who knew him revealed that he had been struggling emotionally for some time and had previously made statements about taking his own lïfe. Tragically, his family members and peers reportedly did not take these warnings seriously, assuming he was not serious.
