this week, i also updated the default chrome colors, so there's better contrast and system consistency the default light theme is no longer dark grey, and toned themes look way cuter than before:

a lot more good stuff in this update, such as custom profile avatars:

as far as i'm aware, this is the most detailed rounded frame implementation in any web browser yet. corners aren't animated in this build, but i'll try to get them to transition smoothly in the future :P

What about using a system material in the chrome? As a flag at least? (just to try it out)

It looks amazing, when you said "all platforms" I wonder how it works with wayland compositors

Love the zen mode, is there a shortcut for collapsing/expanding tabs in vertical mode ? I really want to use it but need this to be able to use it

hello mr helium, is it possible to add the ability for the browser to not close the window when the last tab is closed and instead go to an empty new tab page or something

Profilbild von Fried Bun

I really love Helium and what you're building. Would it be possible to add a UI scaling option? On high-resolution displays the UI feels very small, which makes it uncomfortable to use.

been on helium for a good while now but fully swapped over from FF today, the one thing I'm missing is that middle-clicking to the right of existing tabs pops a new tab on FF, otherwise this thing is perfect

I need firefox unload tab feature so helium wont use my resource on unused tab but I still need them be there to open faster

I'd love for pages to automatically open as divide when "option" key is held. Arc did it well. useful when clicking links, pressing enter on the url bar... The current dragging paradigm is a bit clunky

неплохо конечно но чисто из принципа зачем ты оформительствуешь контент?

чё

Profilbild von lek

типа в чем прикол рамок они конечно норм выглядят и хорошо что концентричны но зачем отжирать эти 4 пикселя у контента ради чего ради вот этого??

Profilbild von wukko
wukkovor 4 Monaten

"On all platforms" except linux where we get one rounded corner and no concentric rounded corners (see themes: default, gtk) nearly had me excited for an application that properly rounds its corners on GNOME! haha and in zen mode the + retreats to... above the window

long time no posting, here's some of the stuff we released in helium recently: - customizable keyboard shortcuts on all platforms - automatic updates on windows - frameless mode (previously zen mode), with floating sidebar, is now out of beta and included in settings by default - improved fingerprint noising: fixed the canvas noising algorithm and added protections against analysis attacks (thank you Cynthia 🐈 for your report, research, and assistance) - tab URL copying, one or multiple, formatted as a list with line breaks - manual tab hibernation, with an option to hibernate all tabs except for selected/active ones - an option to close tabs to the left (or above, in vertical layout) - redesigned toast notifications, now anchored to the active web page, and no longer blinding in dark mode - toast notification about newly opened background tabs in frameless mode (can be disabled in settings) - redesigned the infobar, it no longer looks out of place - improved QR code generation, now it's actually useful - downloads bubble is now shown instead of the full page whenever applicable - kagi search now supports reverse image search from image context menu - frameless mode animations are now smoother - better color contrast in light and dark modes - a lot of bug fixes and other minor improvements all of these changes are present in the latest version of helium. if you're using helium on windows, please update to the latest version, so your browser can be updated automatically from now on!
