Here is something interesting. I have set the ReBAR setting inside the Nvidia Profile Inspector to On for the Global Preset. I booted up Star Wars Outlaws and noticed some weird stuttering/hitching going on, but couldn't figure out what caused this. Well guess what!

Never enable ReBAR globally. That's just asking for trouble.

Well, I found out now😂

ReBAR definitely seems to be broken and I’m glad we can finally turn it off this way

Question does rebar have to be on in bios for this to work through the app?

Yes, otherwise it should do anything.

For the record, Rebar makes a massive improvement to UE5 titles - overall it’s beneficial, but you should test and see per title. I believe the Nvidia App is adding support for this soon

So you recommend leaving this new Nvidia app feature disabled and testing each game individually?

Yeah

Looking at it now, I don't see that option lol

What even is rebar

It basically lets the CPU access the VRAM of you GPU. With it off the default is only 256 MBs. You can also change the size in the Nvidia Inspector.

yea rebar varies a lot from game to game. I'd also leave it off globally and just enable per-game based on the ones that do get perf improvement from it

@mpr_reviews as per our last xitter exchange.

Depends on the game. Forcing reBAR in War 40K Space Marines 2 is working better than off. You have to test for each game. When stuttering happens, leave it off.

ff7 rebirth is another game that caused major stutters for me with ReBAR on 5080

Good to know.

So Nvidia turned it on globaly by default... Atleast they gave us the option now i hope this fixes som microstutters i have in for example the Crew 2014/star wars Outlaws/jedi survivor

turn on rebar in the bios. don't apply it globally. Test it for every game with nvidia profile inspector

I do wonder though if with GSP enabled would ReBar on fix the issues that games have with GSP on?

Sorry, what is GSP?

Nvidia's HW driver scheduler, it's off by default on windows and let's CPU handle scheduling, it's off because it's buggy, causes stutters or spilled RAM/VRAM usage, you should look into it

Interesting, thanks

Yeah, why do you think Nvidia set it to off?

como se desactiva?

Secondo me devi valutare anche su quale preset. Il k a me risulta il migliore e meno problematico in ogni situazione.

Nvidia y rebar no se llevan bien.

Well I had tested some games like AC Shadows where I saw a perf improvement, even though small. Depends on the game.

Do not enable rebar manually if game needs it automatically enables rebar you can check from nv inspector

Does enabling ReBAR in NVPI change anything if I already have it enabled in the BIOS?

Nvidia blocks the usage of the feature I believe, apart from the games that are on the whitelist (that they have tested apparently).

Pero en ese caso con el Rebar desactivado tiene más fps

I really wonder if that's because of NVIDIA having legacy components within its drivers. I mean, AMD endorses ReBAR completely and Intel GPUs are not even supposed to work properly without ReBAR being forced on, this means that the others manage to take full advantege of it.
