How to prepare your hardsurface asset for baking. we go through the entire process. Finalising the UVs: -making sure the uvs are actually unwrapped and a couple of methods of checking - properly offsetting UVs that are mirrored or duplicated - checking and understanding hard edges Mesh integrity: - no flipped faces and how to check for it and how to solve them with examples - correct scale/location and rotation - correct names and conventions + many parts - triangulation I see a fair few asking about this process, especially triangulation so hope it helps! #gamedev #gameart #3d #b3d

When you need some fried bacon for your 3D scene it's best to just fry it yourself. Turns out cloth sim is a pretty nice way to do it. All materials are procedural and done entirely in blender. #b3d #blender #CGI #bacon

made a tool yesterday to speed up foliage geometry generation. before this, i was manually doing it in blender, painfully making uv maps and geometry, exporting, fixing normals, etc - draining. lots of stuff in gamedev is actually a simple task but tools make it complicated

#b3d tip: Quad Remesher is an add-on for Blender by the same developer who gave the 3D sculpting community ZRemesher, UV Master and Decimation Master. In fact it makes remeshing in Blender even better than ZBrush. If you're a serious 3D artist, this is an essential part of your 3D toolkit in Blender. Happy I can finally share this ..been running indx on my v2 350 for a while now ..made a new gantry for it so I can mount all the indx tools on the rear instead of the front...with a nice RGB cover to hide the rear of the toolhead..it turned out really nice so far

This is really horrific and deeply disturbing!! People donate their bodies to medical colleges so that students can learn and help those who are suffering. But here the doctors are treating those bodies as "trophies", insulting them, objectifying them sexually. This isn't a lack of education but lack of ethics and morals.

i've had a look around and I can't find a version this good. It's not from a tape either, this was a file on a harddrive so it's more likely to be the actual asset. I'll get it on YouTube this week along with a bunch of those stuff I'm working through here.
