There's something mesmerising about staring at procedurally generated Diablo-style items with affixes and rarities. I had to vibe code a custom art generation tool to make consistent art for this game. It's not perfect but it's getting there.

In just 2.5 weeks, I conceptualised and built a playable demo for my mercenary band auto-battler roguelike, and I need your feedback. The Banners Will Fall early alpha demo is ready. You can find the link to play it in the comments. Manage a company of mercenaries in a dark fantasy world. Recruit mercenaries with grim pasts, equip them with powerful loot, and send them into danger, knowing not all of them will make it back, in this auto-battler roguelike game. After more than two decades of designing, building, and shipping software, I genuinely can't remember the last time building something felt this exciting. The game currently runs on desktop browsers only, give it a go and let me know what you think!

My vibe coding workflow has changed since I started using Cursor Plan + Opus 4.5 more extensively. Before: Break down tasks into micro-prompts with specific tasks Now: Write a longer feature scope > Plan mode: Ask for proposals > Review proposed plans > Build I'm able to build an Autobattler prototype in 3 days as a result. It has: - 8 mercenary classes to recruit and fight for you - Diablo 2-style Item generation system with 100s of thems with random affixes and rarities - Formation-based Turn-based Combat and spell systems - Procedural dungeon runs with randomised events and enemy battle encounters It's accelerating. I can feel it.
